Anybody at all got any contacts in the States who might be able to lay their hands on some game tickets? Looking for Eagles vs Packers and Jets vs Ravens. Long shot I know but thought I'd ask as I know some of you reside in the US or have friends/family out there (I have already asked my relatives). As it stands combined price for the two games is going to set me and Ardeo back about £260!!
|
Not sure if you mean special deals or freebies, Swanny, but even shit tickets are normally about $80, so you'd be looking at about $320 for four.
|
No not freebies, willing to pay for them just hoping to get them a bit closer to face value.

Do you mean stubhub? Im trying all those kinds of websites, ticketcity, ticketluck, stubhub you name it, I have tried it.
|
Yeah, stubhub sorry. That's the only place I know to get tickets at anything like face value. If you to the club's own website to book tickets, that's where it directs you, in my experience.
|
Face value of the tickets I want are somewhere between $70-$90, Stubhub and similar sites are charging around $160-$200 plus postage, plus a $30 service charge per ticket!
|
I forgot to add, the start of the season is expensive for tickets, especially for divisional matches. Once a team loses a few matches and is out of the playoff hunt, they start arselicking the fans to get them back with cheaper deals.
Being a Philly fan, I would suggest taking your trip in about October, when prices should already be rock bottom? |

As is often the case with everything in the US, the clubs seem to have franchised out the ticketing, and there's a bit of a monopoly with stubhub. |
Stubhub are actually one of the more expensive companies. I have managed to track some half decent tickets on ebay, I'm just waiting to hear back from the seller as he has put a ban on anyone overseas buying them. As I am having them sent to PA hopefully he'll give me the all clear to go ahead and buy them from him.
As for the Jets tickets..........damn! It'll be amazing to be there for the first ever competitive jets game on the Monday night however it's a lot of money to be shelling out for a team I don't even follow. Would be good to see the Ravens D in action though. Ho hum, it's a once in a lifetime trip so expense should be expected I guess. Hopefully by the end of today I'll have tickets for both games and all that is left to do is pack up and go! |
Good luck. Sorry couldn't be more help, but the NFL ticketing is a very shady world. Those players' contracts don't come out of thin air!
|
Tell me about it! Geez
|
TO on the lack of interest in him so far this close season ... "it's as if I didn't play last season ... "
Errr, yes TO. Did you play last season? ;) ... but don't you think that at his age his past is biting him in the ass? I mean some teams would jump at the chance of a player of his calibre even at his age but the baggage just isn't worth it ... |
I hope he never gets another NFL contract, scummy tosser

When I'm over there for good I'm not planning to go and see much NFL at all. Maybe some pre-season, and if Miami are in town but that's about it. Might get a couple of season tickets for colleges tho. Much more fun days out. Oh, and hopefully I'll be too busy game planning to watch NFL on sundays! |
A little strong me thinks Swanny.
Don't get me wrong, I think he was a fantastic player but our performance last season, our first since he left was the best for years which suggests that HE was the cause of teh dressing room unrest. Fond memories though before that but it does sour them somewhat. He needs to take a leaf out of Ocho Cinco's book to a certain extent ... |
Woop woop, we HAVE GOT Jets tickets for the season opener against the Ravens. $550 for 3 tickets. Now all that's left is to get tickets for the main event!

And lets be honest how many Buffalo players actually played last year? :D |
