How's the senior citizen looking?
I'm up against him with LLCOOLSTEVE in the fantasy league.

AddiscombeEagle 10-09-2010 03:32 AM

They are running it a lot to be honest. Don't think he has found a wr yet.

AddiscombeEagle 10-09-2010 03:47 AM

Old man picked, like January all over again.

www.******.com has a fantastic stream from NBC :)

Glad I didn't stay up for that to be honest. SportsCenter was my friend this morning which provided decent highlights ... will watch the repeat which is on Sky this afternoon when I get in from work in between getting my daughter to Brownies ...

pauldrulez 10-09-2010 10:26 AM

Not going to look at the above posts.

I watched this morning before I left for work and got to Half-time.

Thoughts so far:

If Sharper was playing, the Saints would have been winning 7-0. Shiancoe stepped up big.

Brees' pocket presence is massive compared to Aaron Rodgers.

Favre is a tough SOB. If i'd been hit by Harper like that, i'd still be down on the ground.

Vince Hilaire's Afro 10-09-2010 12:57 PM

New Orleans were dominant first half, astonishing that they didn't build up more of a lead. Vikings came back strong in the second - makes you wonder if they might have played well the WHOLE game had Favre trained a little while longer with his receivers in pre season......

Not only that but he was sandwiched between Sharper and his massive lineman ...

You know what, Favre looked bigger in his Packers kit compared with the Vikings or is that just me?

It wasn't a classic to be sure.
Both teams looking a bit rusty. QB's and WR's not in sync yet etc.
But good signs for both teams: the Vikings defence did an excellent job and the Saints winning drive/touchdown showed they can run the ball too.

He was probably on Roids when he was younger.

Wait... probably?

pauldrulez 10-09-2010 06:58 PM

Vikings would have won without the Saints adjustment in the 2nd half.

Putting Harper man-on-man with Shiancoe won them the game.

Great signs for both teams though. Really enjoyed the battle between the Saints Interior O-Line and the Williams Wall.

pauldrulez 10-09-2010 06:59 PM

Oh, and Brady signs a $78m, 4 year contract extension.

Stick that up your Manning and smoke it.

elliott 10-09-2010 07:39 PM

guys, who is holding out and stuff?

i'm playing a keeper league, so i want good players that will be rubbish this year, but long term will come good.

par exemple i picked up haynesworth in FA, meaning next year I can keep him for almost nothing. well good value IMO.

someone like that.

OK, what do you lot make of the trouble down the road with players wages?

jazman 10-09-2010 08:40 PM

Interesting that as it's gone a little quiet on that front ... reminds me of the 30:30 programme I watched about Michael Jordan and the baseball strike was the main reason he returned to basketball ...

pauldrulez 10-09-2010 08:45 PM

I know Robert Kraft came out and said that he wants a deal done for both sides.

Not seen many of the other owners or the NFLPA guys say too much recently.
