I'd ask what their definition of starter is?

I'm not saying the Pack didn't have injuries, but there were few on Offense, so Rodgers didn't really carry the team.

As i've said in the lead-up, I have no issues with Rodgers and he's my 2nd favourite QB in the NFL.

As for the Colts, before I read the website, I'm guessing they count Bob Sanders. He barely plays any games. So, that's 16 out of the way straight away as I don't think he's played more than 4 games in a season since 2007.
Dallas Clark would account for 10 (bearing in mind his replacement got 90 catches. Shows how overrated Clark is. Playing with Manning does that for you. See Welker, Wes in New England for the same statement)

I'm too tired to properly examine or even read the website so i'll have a look if I get 20 mins tomorrow.

But, was he ever clutch? Not that I can remember.

The defense sealed the last 3 Packers games with Tramon'man Williams making the INT vs Atlanta (I think), Shields sealing it vs Chicago and Williams making the play on 4th down vs Pittsburgh.

I'd take issue with injury ravaged as well.

On Offense, the Pack lost Ryan Grant and Jermichael Finley. Grant was no loss in the playoffs with Starks playing, but i'll give that as a loss. Finley was massive, but they just used an extra WR at times.

Defense was next man up, but the credit there goes to Dom Capers. That D was top 5 in the NFL, so that credit shouldn't go to A-Rodg.

Sorry Paul, I knew that you would have your blinkers on in this one ... how can you have an issue with injury ravaged? They even lost two top D players in the Superbowl which summed up their season ...

pauldrulez 09-02-2011 03:17 PM

I have no issue with Injury Ravaged.

I have issue with Rodgers carrying the team.

He carried the Offense.

Dom Capers carried that Defense.

Capers is not getting anywhere near enough credit for the translation of that defense which was one of the worst pass D's in football last year (but made a lot of turnovers) to a defense that stops nearly any offense through the air.

Miss quote on my part. Clearly I meant offense ....

This is concerning.

pauldrulez 10-02-2011 08:30 PM

Agree.

I'm a bit more worried than I was.

Hopefully a cooling off period will bring the sides back together.

peagle 10-02-2011 08:44 PM

Wasn't expecting that.

From 3rd string college QB to Raiders 1st round pick?

Swanny32 10-02-2011 09:48 PM

Apparently CBA talks were cancelled today and tomorrow by the owners.

So who does everyone follow in the CFL?

I'm a BC Lions fan. :p

y2rich 10-02-2011 10:45 PM

Well done Packers fans. :p

Off to Google Paterson, NJ. Must double-check with Mrs to make sure her pal isn't from their first. I worry enough about mentioning "Jersey Shore" in front of her.

Seriously, Ryan Grant and Jermichael Finley not big contributors? Do you not remember what Grant's injury did to their running game? Who stepped up as a pass catching TE in Finley's place?

CFL is a wonderful sport, so you're wrong.

I have to say that I really wouldn't be all that upset with a year without NFL. Right now I watch about 5/6 college games a week and almost no NFL. There's just no comparison.

Would much prefer to watch almost any college football game instead of even the "best" NFL game.

peagle 12-02-2011 05:41 PM

Pats news is that O'brien is now officially OC which up until the nyj game I would have been happy with but am concerned with his lack of experience. At least he's got Tom to help him out.

Reckon if there's a lockout I'll have pick a college team. Maybe Brady's Michigan though apparently they're kack :(

Swanny32 12-02-2011 07:44 PM

Michigan suck ass and that's not just because I'm an OSU fan, literally they are terrible. They do have a new HC though so I guess anything is possible for them next season.

For those of you interested, Sky Sports is free this weekend so I'm told, Sky Sports 3 right now has coverage of the Pebble Beach Pro Am in which Drew Brees and Bill Belichick are both playing in. Brees is almost as good at golf as he is at playing QB!

He, like McDaniels was, was the defacto OC and playcaller anyway.

He's got the same experience as Josh did. QB Coach > Playcaller > Offensive Co-ordinator

The game against the Jets was more about great D from the Jets and the Pats not having a truly great Receiver that will be the gamebreaker. 2 #2 WR's in Welker and Branch as well as Brandon Tate is not good enough.
