So the latest report on ESPN is that an agreement before midnight is highly unlikely ...

WRC in Mexico this weekend on ESPN :p

CBA talks extended by 24 hours. Doesn't mean much though apparently. Agreement is still way off.

So if anyone fancies from American Football action the British leagues start up next month...

If only. Slightly worried by this as a) He's not signed anything with them and b) He's really not that good :D

May well get down to Broadbridge Heath to catch a game ...

Sounds like they've agreed an extension to agree another extension.

I've heard we've signed Jeremy Shockey!

Neil 04-03-2011 10:53 AM

Not that it needed confirming or anything...

Yeah, not sure if it's a done deal, but we have been talking to him.

Under Fox, tight ends were basically used for blocking and little else. Apparently Ron Rivera thinks they could be useful as more of an offensive outlet in the pass game.....whatever next?

Latvian Eagle 04-03-2011 02:55 PM

Yeah we never really used our TE's that well...

Shockey would be a great signing for us!

Swanny32 04-03-2011 02:58 PM

I heard it was between you guys and the Phins for Shockey's signature.

Maybe, maybe not. I understand he has injury problems, and question marks about his attitude as well. Some Panthers fans seem to think he's a bit of a 'punk' like Steve Smith, and, like Smith, might be in Clausen/new rookie QB's face if he's not seeing enough of the ball or the passes aren't on the money etc.

I don't know enough about him personally to comment, although I'd welcome anything that might boost our passing offense!

EDIT looks like he's coming to Carolina - as tweeted by the man himself:

Right, i've had an idea that may or may not take off.

Depends on your interest really.

One of the Cheerleaders, Marie is from the States and is a massive NFL fan. She supports the Packers and she's not just pretending either, she knew all about the Pack-Pats game with Flynn, the last second sack etc.

If I find out how much it costs, how would we feel as a group sponsoring her as other people have done. I.E, that RednBlueArmy site has sponsored Nina.

I'm sure we could muster up enough interest between us depending on the cost, to cover it for next season?

Thoughts?

I'd be interested but I'm a dirt poor sixth form student, currently jobless with car bills to pay and nights out to be had as well as saving for my trip to Napa this summer so the whole paying thing would be the problem.

pauldrulez 06-03-2011 09:52 PM

True, but depending on cost and the amount of us, it might work out as something like a tenner each.

Just means have 1 drink less for 4 CPFC Matchdays :p

jazman 06-03-2011 09:53 PM

Deadline extended to next Friday then, with no more deadlines possible ... drawn out or what!

And Robert Kraft wont be attending anymore meetings as he's off to Israel... and then the UK.

Get your arse back to the US and sort out our season, Mr. K.

Depending on the cost i'd be interested, also a poor student, but I have no capacity for financial management, so would probably do it if its not too much :)

Thanks to last weeks Court ruling, I think the NFL are a bit more desperate to make it work.

If they get this done by the end of March, it'll be a brilliant result for us all.

Whereabouts in the UK, do you know? I'd like to invite him to come to a Palace game with me!
