Whereas you wear the other one and you look a complete nob. Alternate Red jerseys are nice, but the video footage of the Patriots playing in red through history. Not so good. Stick with the blue. |
Palace's season and the impending doom of the NFL are causing problems with my following of the offseason.
Only so many times you can do a mock draft before you repeat yourself. I say that Bill should trade up with the 2 firsts and get Robert Quinn. Wanted him since this time last year. |

I'm jealous of the team who get Von Miller, outside linebacker from Texas A&M predicted to be a top 10 pick, most mock drafts I have looked at have him going 4th or 5th. My cousin goes to Texas A&M so has seen him play a lot and he really rates the guy, says that he is such a dominant figure on the Texas D that you can't help but watch everything he does on the field. I would love to have a LB like that in Philly. One player I am really looking forward to seeing in the NFL (hopefully) next season is Patrick Peterson out of LSU. They had a piece on him on Total Access last week which I paid particular interest in as one mock draft I saw a few months ago had him falling to us, which now will never happen. He looks the part, athletic, strong, smart and a little bit of swagger, he'd fit perfectly in our D opposite Samuel but if he isn't picked in the top 10, maybe 5 even, I'll be amazed, some mocks I have seen have him going as high as 2nd. For Philly's first round pick I'm holding out hope that Mike Pouncey falls to us, he's have his brother a few hours drive up the road in Pittsburg, he'd slot right in on our O-Line as a starter and should he be as good as his brother albeit in a slightly different position, he'll be a great pick for us. Failing that I'm hoping we get Anthony Costanzo, don't know a lot about him and didn't see him perform in the combine but the guys on NFL Network seem to like him. I think our draft board will all depend on where Asamugha ends up, if we can get him then I'm hoping Andy Reid addresses the O Line in the first round, if we don't land him, which is very likely, then I'm hoping for him to take a corner in round 1 or at the most round 2, we really have got to sort that RCB position out. That being said, it also depends on what his plan is with Vick, if he is going to try and get him sitting in the pocket more then we have no choice but to look at O Line in the first and probably 2nd round. |

For me, O-Line, Cornerback and then D-Line as the class of D Lineman is so strong this year we should be able to pick up a quality player in the 3rd round and as you say, if we can offload Kolb before the end of April we could have another 1st or 2nd round pick which would be very beneficial. I wouldn't mind betting that one of the 6 or 7 teams looking to for a QB make a trade for Kolb but we'll probably end up with a pick this year and a pick in next years draft for him. |

Could do with some more strength at DT, stopping the run and getting pressure on the passer. |

I'd love to get Von Miller in (although it'll never happen) he's exactly what our D needs, dominating presence, good against the run as well as the pass and a leader. I wonder if Bradley would be any good as an OLB? Agree about DT, we have the edges covered with the Hunter, Gram and the Hulk but inside we get stuffed, there are worse players around in the league than the guys we have at the position but in order for us to get to the promised land we really do need someone elite at DT. If I was Reid though I'd be addressing OL in Rd1, CB in Rd2 and then DT in Rd3. I really think we need a better corner opposite #22. |
As I said though, all comes down to free agency and whether a deal is done with the CBA, if we can address a couple of areas in free agency BEFORE the draft then the whole draft board changes. I would love us to trade up and take Patrick Peterson whatever the case though.

For the Eagles fans discussing their CB situation.
Just an FYI. Ellis Hobbs III retired a month or so ago due to his injury. |
And I agree with Swanny.
Von Miller will be very good. They're trying to associate him with Gholston now. Completely different player. Would love him in NE, but he doesn't fit the Belichick 3-4 OLB mould. 6-4, 260, 4.6 40. |

If you'd kept Sheldon Brown, Hobbs would be a very good 3rd CB. When people threw at NE or Philly, they threw at Hobbs, not at Samuel. |

Missed Hobbs, shows how much i've been keeping up recently. In that case we do definitely need a CB to play in the nickel, as Lindley isn't good enough to play regularly and neither is Hanson. Wouldn't want to rely on Patterson all season at 2 either.
I think it was a shame we let Brown go, but haven't seen him do too much for the Browns, (63 combined tackles, 10 pdef and 2 INTs), solid if unspectacular. Think we are ok at safety though. |
I'd like us to take a safety in the draft at some point just as backup really, think we are a bit thin there but it's probably a position we could look at through FA.

Don't know if anyone has tried this out yet.
http://www.nfl-360.com/pick-team Oddly enough, for "Sports match" I was suggested the 49ers, the team I would consider my 2nd team, for "Locker Room" I was suggested the Eagles, obviously my team and for "Gut Instinct" I was suggested the Phins, the team I had a soft spot for as a kid as my Dad was/is a Dolphins fan. |
I got NY Giants for Sports Match and Gut instinct. **** that!
(And San Diego for Locker Room) |
