I really don't get some of the logic of the NFL draft... For example before the Vikings took their QB last night they were saying that the Vikings were eyeing up Da'Quan Bowers and one other player (can't remember his name) and the Vikings were looking to trade down.

Ok I know they might want more picks... But if you want a guy why not pick him rather than wait? :confused: It doesn't really make sense to me!

Yep, a lot of Pats fans loved Cam Jordan and Ingram. I honestly didn't want either. I said about Ingram before. I just don't think there is value in a first round RB anymore and I didn't really like Ingram.

For me, Jordan was too small for a 3-4DE and too big for a 3-4OLB, though he wasn't far off the McGinest Elephant role.

Every player has a value, take Christian Ponder for example, no one really had him going in the first round. Teams will know the players predicted draft number, if they think they can get him say late round 2 they can look to trade picks with someone toward the tail end of round two who may be looking to climb the order to get their guy. This would obviously include extra picks for the team moving back which will help them fill other positions they need. In the Vikings case apparently no one was interested in moving up so they had no choice but the fill a need even though it was way above Ponders projected position.

Locker at #8 was a shock to people, but he would have been taken by the Skins or Vikes 2 or 4 picks later.

Mark Ingram was the only running back drafted, going at 28th. That’s the latest the draft’s 1st RB has ever been taken.

In all Jon Gruden's QB Camp shows, Locker came out of them the best.
