I think there will be offers of trades to #33 but I suspect the teams that want the next 3/4 QBs will probably realise they can get their man when they want without moving up too far, if at all. Except the Raiders in which case we'll swap our #33 for their second and their first next year ;)

Honestly wouldn't shock me to see us make that trade with the Raiders.

Or move down with the Redskins and get their 2nd next year.

That's exactly what the Falcons did a few years ago. They sent a 2000 1st round pick for Baltimore's 1999 2nd round pick, #42. The Falcons took a blocking TE in Reggie Kelly. The Ravens 1st round pick turned out to be the #5 pick and they took Jamal Lewis. That's sorta why I mention Atlanta sports being cursed. Not only do we have bad luck, but have some remarkably incompetent personnel chiefs.

Watched it all last night delayed.

Was shocked that the 49ers didn't take Gabbert.

And then the Titans taking Lockers ahead of Gabbert? Crazy stuff.

The Ponder pick was just ridiculous.

Finally, the Falcons are sending a message. They believe they are now ready to win a superbowl.

I have a real fear that the Seahawks will take R Mallet at 57, i would much rather they take a G or a D Lineman.

20 minutes to go. Not sure how long I'll last tonight, was up at 9 this morning for my sons 3rd birthday and been out in the sun all day BBQing and what not. Took a quick power nap just now so we'll see how I go.

Bill saying lots of interest in #33.

Also been in conversations with long-time trade partner Andy Reid about doing business on picks.

Interesting ;)

I hope everyone is refreshed for round 2 (& 3) :lux: :p

Here's my guess at how it goes to start the draft.

The Raiders trade their 2nd rounder and 2012 1st rounder to come up and get Colin Kaepernick.

Swanny32 30-04-2011 12:07 AM

Seems like you are spot on Paul

pauldrulez 30-04-2011 12:11 AM

Hmm, I like Dowling as a player.

Had him in my potential Pats board.

Good player.

Don't really see the need but I like Dowling.

pauldrulez 30-04-2011 12:11 AM

And Twitter has crashed.

Swanny32 30-04-2011 12:11 AM

Oooo good pick, liked the look of him to play opposite #22 for us.

pauldrulez 30-04-2011 12:14 AM

Opens up a trade for Darius Butler or Leigh Bodden.

I like Dowling as a player. Like I did McCourty, but not sure of the need.

Especially in the AFC East which isn't really a throwing division.

Swanny32 30-04-2011 12:16 AM

2 picks, 2 corners gone, time to move up Andy and get a decent corner.

pauldrulez 30-04-2011 12:17 AM

Someone broke Twitter.

Need to find my PFW magazine, wonder if Dowling could play FS?

It'll help you immensely, you have struggled in the secondary the last few years, although you were a lot better last season adding Dowling will no doubt boost you back there.

Swanny32 30-04-2011 12:18 AM

Bye Bye Carson

Swanny32 30-04-2011 12:19 AM

WOW........Andy Dalton is really ginger, blends in with the Bengals orange!

pauldrulez 30-04-2011 12:19 AM

Good pick by Cincy.

Dalton to Green.

Palmer can go elsewhere now.

Ocho and TO can go elsewhere.

Rebuilding a franchise.

I would argue that without a passrush, your Secondary can't be great.

But, Revis and Cromartie went man-to-man with our best 2 receivers and played Zone across the middle to great effect.

If we could do the same (we get Leigh Bodden back as well), and have the 3 Cornerbacks and Chung/Sanders in the 5 DB package, we'll be much improved.
