Very pleased with the Cowboys drafting this year. Rumour has it that Jerry Jones was not involved so that would explain why. Another rumour is that the writing is finally on the wall for Marion the Barber after drafting two RBs. Either that or Felix and Choice are in trouble. Like the first round pick a lot and the fact that we have pretty much seen to our needs in most areas ...

And the Pats pick Cannon has been diagnosed with Non-hodgkins lymphoma. Same disease that my father in law has just been through. While it is one of the most aggressive, because of that it is one of the easiest to treat. Amazed that he was in the draft in all honesty what with the finding of a mass in and around his stomach. Will be following this one with interest whether the Pats end up keeping him on or not ... I'm sure most of you will join me in wishing a full and speedy recovery.

I'm reasonably pleased with the Eagles picks myself. We've added depth to the o-line interior with 3 picks, depth to the linebackers with 3 picks (all of them with footballing bloodlines), a couple of players in the secondary and a couple of players in the backfield. Oh, and the most accurate kicker in NCAA history. Competition for roster spots will be intense.

Now on to free agency to plug a few needs like right corner and the d-line and I'm confident we can give it a real go this year. :lux:

I said this on Twitter yesterday, I cannot see the Eagles making the SB while Andy Reid is still there. A bit like Wade Phillips at Dallas. And to a certain extent, it will be interesting to see how the wonder QB in Philly can continue in the same vein when opposing defences now know what he can and is capable of.

If we have a good free agency I think we'll be one of the top teams around. The best signings we've made this off season are definitely Jim Washburn & Howard Mudd as both our lines have needed work. Still it will be very tough just to win the NFC title let alone the big one whatd with the Packers, Saints and Falcons looking good. Nothing wrong with the occasional optimism!

I disagree, I think they always knew what he was capable of, it's just hard to stop. I think certain teams will be able to do it, those who can contain him and hit him hard when they get the chance, but on the whole his success is down to his performance more than a surprise factor. I don't believe there is any reason why Phillie couldn't mount a serious SB campaign this season but we'll have to wait and see (maybe a very long time).

From Patriots point of view the draft was almost so disappointing that I think it might have been ok. I don't know enough about the process and the players involved to really know what's going on after Day 1, but the fact that it all seems so strange must mean Bill has a plan! If I was to trust anyone in this situation it would be Bill, even if it was just because he could draft me and still have me in a system which would get results!

Listening to BB, he didn't seem overly concerned and the medical verdict seems to be that it is very treatable. The hospital which resides at Patriot Place (the stadium complex) is renowned as one of the best centres for treating such problems so he probably struck gold with the Pats! Best of luck to the lad.

Even if it is a bit blind at times.

Dana-Farber.

They also sponsor the practice field and bubble.

They are the cancer centre for the US.

He wont get better treatment anywhere else in the US.

They are the Dr James Andrews of cancer care.

I'm pretty pleased with the Eagles draft, seemed to address most of our needs. More competition at LB and possibility of a hard hitting safety should help stuff the run. Watkins should fill major need on right side of the OL.

In terms of Reid, he's one of the best at managing a team, as shown by our consistence over a long period of time. I see what Jaz means in terms of his down side, e.g. clock management plus some interesting play calls, but don't think that he is as negative as Wade Phillips was. Players still want to do it for Reid, and we have got the ability to go all the way, with a bit of luck (and a better RCB). We were never good enough on D last year, think we scored the most points against the Packers in the playoffs, just gave up too many. Our losses last year were all pretty much becuase our D didn't do enough.

Hmmm when is the season going start? :(

For those of you still interested we drew 36-36 with the Kent Exiles on Sunday. I got another sack taking my tally to 3 for the season. Game could've gone either way but finished with us on the Exiles 3 and no time left for the kick.

Not until the playoffs. That was Kents 2nd tie on the bounce.

You also lost :hi: :lux:

Andy Reid simply enjoys Hawaii, that's why he ended up there 4 or 5 times.
