How did I leave them out? Was the part where I put we played 8 teams with losing records a bit too difficult for you to spot?

All you've done is emphasize my point though - we basically played similar crap teams yet out-scored you considerably. And that with playing teams with tougher D - including the Chargers. We're talking about points SCORED by our teams - I'm not sure where the Chargers offensive skills come into how many points we score unless you think all of our 500 points were scored by our corners making pick 6s.

41-14 and 38-7 against the Dolphins says different.

And the great Jets D you put up about 50 points on, great achievement yes, but also boosts your figures.

Also we're talking about this season not last, when Eagles offence with Vick should be better than last year and IF we added Plexico could be the final piece of our offensive jigsaw.

jazman 26-05-2011 05:06 PM

I hate to add my piece in here but there was a certain element of not knowing what Vick was capable of last season and if indeed he would be starter which he turned out to be. I think defences playing against him if we have this coming season will know to a certain point of dealing with him especially if he decides to run as much as he did, which was his downfall in my opinion even though exciting. Encourages a defence to hit a QB hard.

Swanny32 26-05-2011 05:07 PM

But we won't mention the merciless beatings you give to teams that actually have people phoning up and complaining that it's unsportsmanlike.

Regardless of what you go on about Sax, if we sign Plax we have the most frightening offense in the NFL. You are banging on about last season, and how we didn't outscore you last season, but thats a season without Plax, that's a season where we had Vick banged up for a handful of games, a season where Kolb started as our #1 QB, I'm talking about next season. Everyone knows where they stand, Vick is a year wiser, has had more time to work on his passing, an addition of a receiver who can win jump balls, a better O line, a year wiser and better Shady McCoy.......

Vick became our starter from week 2, teams had time to prepare, they had game tape on him, they knew what he was like from his time in Atlanta.

jazman 26-05-2011 05:10 PM

Most frightening for a defence if Plax carries his gun around ;)

Anyway, Pats got the Championship game, Eagles didn't. Should that not say something in it's own right? ;)

It's all if's and but's at the end of the day, whether your team is better than his team ... are the stats better? do they have better players? it's all up for argument and most fans will defend their own team.

:p

There surely was a big question on how he would be after time out of the game, mentally and physically. Same goes for Plax, will he still have it. I have no doubt that when the Eagles are on form they can beat most but to me they always seem to have a weak link somewhere ...

Oh, so now you are saying you could've scored more points but those nice chaps from Philly are sportsmanlike? **** me, I've heard it all now.

Who is to say that after two years of hardly playing, competing, training, game contact, etc, that Burress will be remotely the same player for at least half the season, if not longer? No-one is going to be scared of your offense. I personally don't think anyone should be scared of ours either but other than Jackson there isn't a single other playmaker I'd trade from your team to mine.

Swanny32 26-05-2011 05:31 PM

We'll have the offense to make Defenses feel like they have to be on top of there game to beat, no corner or safety wants to go one on one with DJax, McCoy improved massively last season, Vick won't let you know if he's running or passing, Maclin has great hands for short and intermediate receptions but can also go deep, Celek has proven he can block well and also make first downs through catching in traffic, oh and he can also go deep, adding Plax would add another string to our bow and give yet another problem to every single DC in the league.

Along with frightening we also have the most explosive offense in the league, did last season and will have next season.

jazman 26-05-2011 05:34 PM

Bold statement. We'll just have to see if you are as good as you say you are. You are not the only team in the league to have a pretty good offence. Problem is you need a very good defence to support them which is what let you down last year.

Swanny32 26-05-2011 05:39 PM

I have absolutely no doubts at all that our D screwed us over last year, we had some big time injuries and had some players who just didn't perform when needed. The thing our Offense has suffered from in recent years is some dodgy play calling from Mr Reid

jazman 26-05-2011 05:41 PM

There you go, what I said above about always something weak, have never appeared unbeatable ...

saxoneagle 26-05-2011 05:46 PM

Always making excuses for always having a good team and Reid only getting them to one title game, more like.

Vick won't let you know if he's running or passing. Because he doesn't know himself.

I'd fancy McCourty, Revis etc running downfield against Jackson.

You want to know a fact.

DeSean Jackson's Touchdowns were against the following teams: Detroit, Jacksonville, Atlanta, Indianapolis, Washington and a Dallas team that had given up. The only team there with a half-decent secondary is Atlanta and that is only Dunta Robinson. And none of those teams have a remotely good Free Safety.

His big day was against Houston, worst Secondary in years.

In fact, look at Philly's 17 games. He faced a good Cornerback twice and it was both against Green Bay.

He averaged 3 receptions, 38.5 yards and 0 TD's up against Woodson and Williams.

In 2011, Jackson will not face a decent Secondary until after his Bye Week. He will then have the Bears, Cardinals, Patriots, Jets, Dolphins in 5 of his remaining 10 games.

The NFC has very few Pass Defense teams who have players who can cover compared to the AFC.

We had the worst 3rd down defense in the league.

We had injuries all over the defense, missing 4 starters before the season.

As for play-calling, Belichick, Brady and Bill O'Brien completely changed an offense mid-way through a season after trading a player who at the time was still being proclaimed as the best deep threat in the league.

pauldrulez 26-05-2011 06:20 PM

All this is making me want to go to Eagles-Patriots even more.

Swanny32 26-05-2011 08:34 PM

I retract my statement, we won't have the most frightening offense, we'll have the second most, behind the Falcons.
