Was going to stay up for the game last night, glad i didn't bother. Watched the condesnsed version this morning and is the same old story for the Bucs. I honestly believed they would win yesterday, great on paper but the team is a shambles. Schiano can't have long.

Glennon is gradually improving but Seahawks next week could be messy!

Quietly confident about the Panthers chances - we have good records against the Falcons at home, and against the Saints. If we can get a result in Atlanta, things could get interesting. Fully expect to be let down though! Patriots game could be key also.

Just had a look at your remaining schedule, can easily see 6 more wins there (5 may even be enough) so you have every chance. Big games against the saints towards the end which I think will decide your fate. If they have clinched a 1/2 seed by the final day they will play the second team.

Can't say I'm particularly keen on the Panthers however anyone but the Falcons!

Mate of mine has two tickets (£45) for the game Sunday. PM me if you want 'em. Everyone I know who is a fan is already going.

Don't get too carried away... The fact that we haven't been above .500 since the 2008 play off debacle is a massive step forwards whether it lasts or not. Five years has been a bloody long time. I know we missed out on Luck but I am kind of glad he didn't come out in 2011. Cam is a bloody good QB and we are finally getting pieces to fit.

As I said before that Loss to Arizona in 2008 which let's face it was a bit of a shock at the time effectively destroyed the Franchise and destroyed Jake Delhomme's NFL career in the process. He never ever recovered from that defeat, in a season where he was top notch for us. 12-4 to then go 4 seasons on losing record says a lot about how much of a step now being 4-3 is! :p

Yes, that and Jimmy Clausen* :p

I'm a Bucs fan so I've suffered through my fair share of awful football teams (and one very good one) so I know what you mean. I must admith though even I was pretty surprised when I heard about not being over .500 since 2008.

I hadn't seen that much of Carolina up to recently so was surprised to hear some of the negative press re Cam a few weeks ago. I rate him very, very highly** but of course I would take Luck over him. Seems like the Panthers are getting it together, need a win against a real contender to get everyone else believing though. Perhaps that is the Pats?

*Inspried by this thread I have just checked more Panthers stuff and seen that you actually draft quite well in general

** As a NFL QB. In general he annoys me intensely!

Latvian Eagle 25-10-2013 06:58 PM

Jimmy Clausen is a strange one really. Very highly rated in college he only dropped so low as he had suspect temperament. In fact a lot of experts said we done well to get him where we did. It was pretty obvious right off the bat however that he wasn't a good fit for us. I think if Matt Moore not got injured (where is he now btw?) Clausen may never have had any serious play time for us.

The fact he is our third stringer says it all. I quite like Cam Newton... You need seagger sometimes otherwise he would just be another (post jail) Michael Vick, or even worse a Vince Young / Tim Tebow.

Was it last year we made Matt Ryan look like a complete c**t in the return game? :o

It was last season after Ryan acted like a prat at the end of the game in Atlanta then we beat them back in Charlotte. :hi:

34/49 for 342 yards and 2 TDs doesn't sound that bad.

Jets, Colts, Giants. Less so the Colts now Manning has left but they're still twats.

And can't bring myself to hate Denver but just hope Manning retires soon without another ring.

Jaguars staying at my hotel like the Vikings were last month. I was speaking with shad khan who is a great guy and I believe he has agreed to games in London for the next four years. Everyone seems so up for the Nfl I'm London but I still don't really get the American sports and fan culture
