Quite amusing that Australian sports fans and media are being introduced to the NFL via this shit show.

I know, Boomer and Trent did get off to a shaky start

Looks like another NFC Central slam-dunk for the Packers.

How is Dilfer allowed to commentate?

"You cannot lose games in the NFL and still win"

I seem to remember him stating that Mariota is not pro ready, so that's also started roaringly well.

I don't think he will be for much longer.

There's been universal condemnation of his performance tonight.

Real shame Dez Bryant is facing a bit of a layoff now, however, that being said this is a very hard working team that did not do much pre-season training with Bryant. He will be missed but I believe we can get by without him for a short time as this team does not have to rely on him solely. Yes, it is great to have the option but this is a tough roster that we have got this season. As long as we stop trying to beat ourselves that is .... and that comment has nothing to do with Romo who was impressive on Sunday.

Swanny32 15-09-2015 02:35 PM

Continuing on from last season by the looks of things for us, clueless in the first half and having to climb mountains in the second half. We seemed to do that a lot last season and last night was no different, Bradford & Co just didn't have a clue in the first half last night, "rabbit caught in the headlights" comes to mind. Bit gutted not to get the win in the end and personally I thought the call to kick a FG on 4th & 1 with 3 minutes left to play was a gutless and stupid call, we should have gone for it, and I was proved right when Parkey shoved it right.

Jury will be out on this bunch of players and Chip, for at least another 3-4 weeks but if they perform like they did in the first half last night, at the Linc, they'll be boo'd and jeered off the pitch, make no mistake about that.

Much better than expected showing by the 9ers :lux:
New D looked pretty good and Kap seems to have been working hard in the off season. He looked almost a proper QB at times last night.

Swanny32 15-09-2015 09:22 PM

And those uniforms were sexy!

Vince Hilaire's Afro 15-09-2015 09:57 PM

Has Kaepernick been deserving of the criticism he's received in the last year or so, or has it been the usual story of the QB taking heat for the failings of other aspects of the team's play?

Jeff McLane

@Jeff_McLane

Byron Maxwell was targeted 11 times, allowed 10 catches for 179 yards, 1 TD, per PFF. Also called once for pass interference.

Yea Eagles sucked, most of it was down to no pass rush and going up against Julio Jones though.

Still a waste of money.

Swanny32 16-09-2015 11:00 AM

Maxwell was shocking. Just goes to show that some people are able to ride the coat tails of a team and make themselves look good when in actual fact, they're toilet. That Seahawks D won't miss him at all.

Well, not sure about that. They are certainly missing Kam Chancellor.

Kam Chancellor isn't Byron Maxwell, oh lord how I wish he was.

Personally think Chancellor is another player that could leave that Seattle system and look below average...

So far, only Browner has looked anywhere near reasonable out of Seattle, though you have to give more of a chance to Maxwell.

Bit of both I reckon.
Last season was definitely his worst to date. However that was because the coaches tried to clip his wings too much and built the offense around him standing in the pocket and throwing the ball. Which was very dumb. He's not that type of QB and even if you want him to be that type of QB you should get him there gradually, not in one off season.

Monday night he looked much more accomplished. His body position and feet placement in the pocket was much much better and he went through his progressions to find the open man when he did throw. Still some way to go to truly reach his potential. But the signs are encouraging.

There is a similar witch hunt at times against Cam Newton, but the majority of people realise that he's a special talent and appreciate what he can do to win games, rather than his deficiencies.

With only 2 (one injured, 1 injured sometimes) weapons across his 4 seasons. Benjamin and Olsen.

Cam is underrated.

A pile of WR's worked out at Dallas over the last couple of days so I would expect one to to be signed up in time for Sunday.
