CPFC BBS - The NFL thread

Heard a Tampa OL and Falcons OL on the radio today. The Tampa OL said that at some point they let Winston start calling his own plays in certain situations. The Falcons OL said that Matt Ryan isn't even allowed to audible. They give him 2 plays to call and if he doesn't like what's going on with the first one, he can switch to the other one. Think I figured out why they only averaged 15 points the last 11 games of the season.

I was going to say I was surprised about that with Ryan as they made such a big deal of him a few years back. But then I remembered the guy is thick as shit and probably can't remember more than two plays anyway never mind throwing in audibles too. :hi:

It's surprising how many QBs are told not to audible.

There have been bigger QBs than Ryan who aren't allowed to audible, but I think that is beginning to change.

And ignoring the above, he's one of the more cerebral QBs in the league.

Ryan is a very good quarterback. A little dull perhaps but calling him thick is ridiculous.

Anyway, on to the Superbowl...

Broncos to lose to the Cardinals...

Brady playing like Manning. So frustrating but it's only a 1 score game and we have been absolutely shocking in that first half. Surely we can only get better.....

Ref had already (incorrectly) blown in the whistle. In cases like that if the whistle has been blown all they can do is give them possession at that spot.

Colleague at work just asked how many quarters are in a half. :D
