Now confirmed.

The NFL Draft will NOT be shown live on Sky Sports.

There will be 2 hour highlight shows the next day.

So, you either have the average NFL.com stream or a justin.tv stream which can be excellent or useless.

I'm sticking to the Patriots website with their reporters who attended the combine and will be doing their live radio show with their analysis, but that isn't really to anyone's taste on here although i've recommended it many times as its not completely Pats-related and has more humour in it than anything football-related ;)

Anyway, I wanted that running alongside the TV, but it shows what SKY really care about when they are showing some sort of highlights show of Super 14 rugby and a golf show ahead of the biggest non-match event in the NFL calendar. So, do SKY really care about NFL anymore? All this because of a bit of advertising.

saxoneagle 18-04-2009 12:55 PM

I'll be watching on TV :p

pauldrulez 18-04-2009 01:07 PM

I hate you :p

How many rounds do they show where you are?

Last year, we got the first round and the second Miami selection. Then we had to rely on the online stream.

We have ESPNAmerica over here now, but we don't get any NFL coverage nor see Kiper/McShay on the tv or anything like that.

Nookie and I will be in Donny, being distracted from Stevek and Lightweight's stag/hen weekend by draft updates on my iPhone.

As for your suggestion, Paul... would you spend two days watching Charlton programming because someone told you that the broadcasters are quite funny and don't only talk about the Clowns?

Worst predictions:
At least a first round pick for Cassel (I was closer than Schefter was)
Redskins to Superbowl
Cassel SB43 MVP
Cassel should be cut (everyone was saying it though)

Best predictions (just a couple of them);):
Week 1 saying Cassel could do a good job with the system around him.
He would be franchised and traded
Ayers would move from a 3rd round pick up to a first round pick after the Combine.

So let's recap your predictions, then.

You said:

1. Cassel will be amazing OR
2. Cassel will be good OR
3. Cassel will be traded OR
4. Cassel will be cut.

Really sticking your neck out and limiting yourself there.

He named 31 potential Superbowl winners, too.

Kudos though, he got Detroit right as just an "outsider"... :D

I predict that the Lions will select first in next weekend's draft.

Or another team will pick first, but to do so they will swap a pick, or a selection of picks, or a player, or a selection of players, or a pick and a player, or a player and a selection of picks, or or a pick and selection of players, or a selection of picks and a selection of players, to an NFL team based in Michigan.

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST.

If that doesn't happen, you should leave this thread for EVER.

Or two hours. Whatever.

I'd prefer the S14.:)

I give up on making comments so i'll stick to predictions for the draft.

1. Tyson Jackson, Everette Brown or another pass-rusher becomes a Chief at #3 if they don't trade down. Aaron Curry is not a good enough rusher but is a consistent LB.

2. The 2 QBs go at #4 and #9 in the draft. That is where a second team trades up ahead of the Niners to get Sanchez (Jets or Broncos)

3. Pat White goes in the 2nd round to the Patriots.

4. Crabtree falls below Maclin.

5. 7 Offensive Linemen go in the first round.

6. A team in the NFC selects in the first round

7. The Patriots select at least one player in the first 7 rounds.

8 A running back is selected in the first 250 players

9 I don't attend college on the Monday after the Draft. Not through tiredness, just because I can't be arsed. Bit like today.

Find the serious predictions.

saxoneagle 20-04-2009 01:55 PM

#5 is serious. The rest are rubbish.

:p

nookiebear 21-04-2009 04:30 PM

So I see the Lions have a new logo. That'll help :)

Great feature on drafting QBs - link below

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/...exact-science/

Talks about choosing QBs in the draft wisely. Ryan Leaf is mentioned quite a bit :)

Check out the new Seahawks' alternate uniform. My eyes, my eyes!!

Miles Austin is to have his contract extended at Dallas as he is considered No2 WR behind Roy Williams ...
