Where were the Pats in the mid 90s then while to Cowboys were fighting out supremacy with the 49ers, Bills and Broncos? ;)

pauldrulez 13-05-2009 07:10 PM

1997 - Superbowl. If Vinatieri hadn't kicked to Howard ;)

And they were in the playoffs at least 2 other times, maybe three.

Going back to the book about Michael Oher.

It was for sale in Redhill Waterstones today as well.

pauldrulez 13-05-2009 07:26 PM

Jason Taylor looks very likely to become a Dolphin apparently.

Bound to please Joey Porter....

I bought Moneyball by Michael Lewis and found myself flicking through that in my local Borders. That Mr Lewis sure can tell a good story.

Only read the first few chapters about Lawrence Taylor and how he played a role in making left tackles so valuable. Very interesting stuff.

I have to say i'm gutted about not getting Taylor.

I hope Belichick has something else up his hoodie or i'm seriously worried about our D.

Tully Banta-Cain, Pierre Woods and Shawn Crable splitting reps as a pass-rusher. Now, I could just about stomach that if we were in a good position for the rest of the D.

But no, lets look at ILB alongside Jerod Mayo. Bruschi and 2 UDFAs. Bru will be playing one down. And then you are left to Guyton and Appleby with McKenzie being hurt.

Then you move on to the secondary. 4 positions. 1 safety is settled with Merriweather. Sanders, Chung and others have to fill 2nd safety. 2 corners with players that have proved nothing filling the positions and have to fit in as Nickel as well.

JT is home! :lux: :lux: :lux:

Great to see a player putting family and loyalty ("what's that, then?" ask Pats fans the world over) ahead of personal glory and the almighty dollar.

As i said, i'm sure porter is delighted. Which one will be up against the strong side? Porter or taylor

Is this the JT who you were telling me was passed it when he signed for the Skins? ;)

Oh, he's past his best - but we're paying him $1million and it's only a one year deal. Peanuts for a player of his experience.

Plus he'll be motivated again playing for his team instead of a mickey mouse outfit.

:o

(Thanks again for the second rounder - we basically got Pat White for nothing!)

BP and TS will find a way to incorporate both, with Porter still the starter. Factor in Taylor, Wake and Roth and I'm delighted with our depth at OLB.

I'm using my phone so the formatting sucks, so bear with me.
I would gladly swap our outside linebackers for yours anyday. Adalius 'wrong side of 30' Thomas. Followed by woods, crable and TBC. If we dont have a trade in place, then i'm worried.
What do other fans know of woods and crable?

You're welcome.

I'm sure it'll be a struggle, but I think the No4 defense without Taylor last season will just about get by now we've added Haynesworth and Orakpo ;)

pauldrulez 14-05-2009 01:13 PM

You still need portis to stay healthy and hope that campbell can game manage for the year which he did last year until he came up against the steelers.
I picked them as the nfc champ last year. Talk about an epic fail of a superbowl prediction. Patriots and Skins.

Anyone mentioned anything about the Eagles on this thread recently (other than me) as i've given up reading all Paul's Pats related stuff. :)

Me too, and I've been a Pats fan since Paul was in nappies.

pauldrulez 14-05-2009 02:50 PM

And thats my problem how?

pauldrulez 14-05-2009 02:53 PM

No news about the Eagles at all.

Apart from a glance on their forums where someone said Ellis Hobbs should start for them...

And you mention loyalty. I havent supported any other team before or after 2000 season when I started watching NFL with my cousins and was taught the rules.

If I wasn't going to be loyal to a team, it would be Palace. They piss me off no end.

Would rather waste all my money on a trip to the US and pay £3 to watch Carshalton than pay £300 to watch Palace.
