Shocking! I guess the airliner will show a lot of thrust, power and promise - but when it actually comes to lifting off, it'll crash and burn :D

Oakland have also signed a deal for a second airline

Ben, I meant to ask this before. Well, you or any other Phins on here?

How is Greg Camarillo with his injury? (I think thats spelt right. The WR who got hurt against Patriots)

He looked a very good receiver, but I think he got hurt pretty bad. Is he back at OTA's or still hurt?

Benzhiyi 05-06-2009 12:14 AM

Looks like he'll start the season on PUP. Not sure he'll be the same player after that injury, but we'll see.

pauldrulez 05-06-2009 10:41 AM

Unfortunate, he looked like a good option for the QBs and someone that would take some coverage away from Ginn and Fasano.

What week do you think Henne will take over from Chad? Since everywhere I look seems to say halfway through the season. But surely if the Dolphins are 5-3 8 games in, you wont be changing QB when there is still a chance of the playoffs.

pauldrulez 05-06-2009 10:51 AM

Just to mention with those not up on the news.

Brian Westbrook hurt and will not be ready until start of the season as he is having an op.

And

Dirty Rodney Harrison retires. However much i'd like to see him in the HoF, he wont go in, but will be a great analyst on NBC and is already arguing with Dungy. Also the only player with 30 picks and 30 sacks.

But, life goes on. And the AFC East has replaced Dirty Rodney with Dirty Sanchez..... :o

This really is bad news for us, with Brian not getting a proper pre season in he is going to take a few of games to get up to full fitness and as everyone knows Westbrook is key to our offence. There has been a lot of Eagles fans on the forums suggesting that maybe the whole Westbrook offence is getting a bit long in the tooth and that teams this season will more focused on shutting him out of games, something that we saw in a couple of games towards the tail end of last season. This does however pave the way for our drafted RB LeSean McCoy to step up and show he can play ball, I just hope that Westbrook has no problems in recovering, because for me, he is the pulse of our team and definitely a massive loss.

Maybe there will be bits of DeSean Jackson coming out of the backfield in a sort of wildcat, a bit like last year.

I hope this is the case but only in dribs and drabs, I'd rather have him as an option for McNabb downfield in a WR role, him and Maclin are going to be vital to us this season

pauldrulez 05-06-2009 11:52 AM

I do wonder why the Eagles refuse to go for a top Receiver.

The one year he had TO (when in a playing mood), McNabb got them to the Superbowl and was driving for a tying field goal despite being sick at various times.

Give him a top receiver and he'll perform. Better hope that Maclin performs and DeSean steps it up another level. I'd take him off Kickoff Returns straight away and stick Hobbs on that, one of the best and most consistent returners in the game.

My thoughts exactly, who said you had a limited knowledge of the game! :D Maclin has a lot to live up to, he has very high expectations by the sounds of it, I'm particularly excited about seeing him play. I do worry about Jackson becoming another TO hopefully Reid and McNabb can keep him in check, if they do and he does step up to the plate this season then it could be a very good year for us. First things first we need to establish him or Maclin or maybe both as out and out WR and give McNabb a reliable target to hit. The next question is can McNabb still do it??

pauldrulez 05-06-2009 12:11 PM

Everyone says I have a limited knowledge.

You cant have Jackson out there getting hit on KRs all the time. I'd give him some breaks on Punt Returns as well, Maclin may be able to take them on and I think he'll be the off returner to Hobbs on KR.

I think Boldin would have been a good option for the Eagles as you can have Jackson tearing down the field with Maclin the other side but also filling out the slot at times. Boldin can then pick up the short options as well as offering a legitimate option for McNabb right now.

Someone who wont throw the ball down 1 yard from the EndZone ;)

Nail, head, hit!

Swanny32 05-06-2009 12:41 PM

I really hope to build my knowledge up this year. I have no problems with the rules etc I have liked NFL for as long as I can remember as my dad used to watch it when I was a kid, I don't really have any problems with my own team (Philly) who, I would like to add, I didn't choose because they were the Eagles, they were chosen because everytime I saw Westbrook pummel the Defence I got a massive boner! Also turned out once I had chosen my team that my cousin was a Philly fan as well as my Aunt who are yanks. I have a fairly good knowledge of the top players in the league i.e TO, Brady, Moss, Manning(s), LT, Roethlisberger etc but it's the lesser players that don't necessarily get much coverage that I want to learn about this year. And I'm going to make an attempt at dabbling with NCAA this season as well so when it comes to the 2010 draft I will have a basic knowledge of the top players up for selection and what teams will be getting if they draft them.

pauldrulez 05-06-2009 02:13 PM

You'll learn pretty quickly once you get started, I watched all the time, but until last year I wasn't that interested in learning about other teams, College players etc.

I think its more fun to learn about other teams now though I do like to mention the Patriots every so often. Not sure if anyone noticed ;)

Swanny32 05-06-2009 03:55 PM

I got sky hd installed on Wednesday so looking forward to high definition football and will definitely be watching as much as possible so hopefully my knowledge on the lesser known players will grow just by watching sky sports. God bless sky!

pauldrulez 05-06-2009 04:07 PM

I decided to focus on learning the stupid Patriots players, like the Special Teamers who I made sure to remember on Xmas Day I think on this thread :D

I need Sky HD. I'm considering getting ESPNAmerica for the NCAA rather than getting loads of DVDs sent over from the States with games on.

Well if you want HD before the season starts you need to think about ordering soon, the waiting list at the moment is about 3 months (well, that's how long I was kept waiting) They had a rush of people wanting the HD box at £49 and ran out of boxes. Not sure what the stock situation is like at the moment but better safe than sorry.

How much is ESPN?

The Wildcat offense is an animal with a different name in Dallas.

Specifically, the Cowboys refer to the offense as the Razorback since speedy former Arkansas running back Felix Jones is at the controls.

According to Tim MacMahon of the Dallas Morning News, the Cowboys’ version of the Wildcat featured some diverse looks. That included quarterback Tony Romo lining up at wide receiver, wide receiver Patrick Crayton taking shotgun snaps and Jones going in motion as the Cowboys unveiled some different formations during Thursday’s practice.

“Man, it was great,” said Jones, who was utilized primarily as a decoy. “It brought back old memories. It’s just the first day. I believe we can get a lot better at it. You’ll see a lot more of it, I’m hoping, when the time comes.”

Coach Wade Phillips was hesitant to discuss the Razorback much, but eventually acknowledged that the Cowboys may run it during games.

“We’re looking at it a little bit,” Phillips said. “We’ll see if it goes any further than that. It depends on what we can do, certainly.”
Raiders I would imagine should be next to implement it. With McFadden also coming from Arkansas in the same year, they should use it alongside DHB just like what we mentioned about the Eagles with DeSean.
