In fairness, I made no suggestion that one society was pure and deeply spiritual, and the other was corrupt and evil. Nor did I mention sex, or drugs.

Flying over Urals was always exciting as you would be looking for MIG’s doing their drills, anyway that is not annoying and I digress

Suppose it’s my mistake for reading twatter, but since the release of Oppenheimer there’s been a wave of historically illiterate people saying some really stupid shit about Imperial Japan and the War in general.

Unrelated but in a similar ballpark, the recent attempts by US far right politicians to convince people that slavery was actually positive for black people because it forced them to learn skills and trades that they otherwise wouldn’t have. Putrid.

What's more likely in fact almost certain to happen in the next twelve years or so with the number of teams expanding and their national team improving (albeit at a snail's pace) is the prospect of the Israel national side qualifying for a World Cup.

Using hot and cold balls to keep them apart from one or two sides is easy but keeping them apart from the potentially ten or so Muslim-majority nations (if the African qualifiers chiefly come from N Africa and Indonesia have got a good side by then) will be impossible.

This'll annoy you then. DC01 vacuum, bought well over 25 yrs ago, given regular new filters etc and the odd service still going.

No Triggers broom jokes. Take care of things most will last.

We have a Numatic Henry vacuum cleaner bought in the late '80s for about £60 that is still going strong although well-used and abused.

An ad for this spiked my ire:

Very rare I ever say my Missus annoys me, in fact I think it's a first on here.

Her steadfast refusal to take any responsibility for our joint finances, Refuses to look at anything to do with banking. She leaves it totally up to me. Except for the proviso, which isn't very often admittedly, but the proviso when she wants something she gets it. Whether that be a Spa Pool for the back garden, an onsite Caravan, an extension on the house, a new kitchen, or whatever she asks for. If I ever dare so no, then it's on.

This time it's a River Cruise, with all the trimmings. "After all she worked for 45 years as well"

Has no idea what we have or how it will impact us. "just do it'

If we were to split the finances in half, she'd probably blow her half in 5 years. Then I'd be back in the same boat.... (on a different cruise lol)

Should be a Dear Majorie, that one.

pallet 28-07-2023 08:06 AM

Feel your pain though mine is slightly different. My wife gave up work when our twin girls were born, she refused to work as she needed to be at home for them. They are now 18 and about to go to uni, she works as a dinner miss in a primary school doing 1 3/4 hours a day. It probably costs her as much to get their in petrol for the week as she earns. We also have to go on holiday in peak time as she isn't allowed time off during term time time. She tells me she is looking for a new job but wants still to work part time, doesn't want to work in an office, won't do a driving job and can't seem to get past an major supermarket AI bot to stack shelves.
Everytime I bring it up it ends up in a row as I am a patronising barstard apparently.

Paying £48 for a phone charger at an airport. I was rushing because they have too few check in desks open in the first place and if you're not ready when check in opens its an hour.

That rush means I forgot my charger because I had to repack to a smaller bag due to this airlines much tighter policy than my usual.

I have to repack due to the airlines smaller bags policy. I cant let that delay me due to the airports insufficient staff. In my haste I forgot a simple charger and get raped for nearly fifty quid, same as my ******* ticket for something I've got 20 of at home. Raging!

RazorsEdge 28-07-2023 09:27 AM

It’s a type of ear infection I think. A week ago I couldn’t hear properly out of my right ear and tinnitus had started. Today my hearing is a bit better (tinnitus remains) but now my balance is totally ****ed.

Yeah probably. But a pretty big day for my new job tomorrow. I'll not sleep thar well if I didn't get one and my phone was on a few % for the alarm. Plus I need a fully charged ipad for work.

Is what it is. Just frustrating and the cost is taking the piss

I know how you feel. I got my rectum resized by Apple in Milan for because I forgot my travel plug. Couldn’t find anyone selling adaptors so as a last resort had to hand over obscene amounts to them.

Dear Adlerhorst
Being truthful, sometimes my good self experiences a "Buzzing" in my right ear at night which can be very irksome as it affects my sleep. This "Buzzing" tends to occur during periods when I have blocked nasal passages requiring the use of "Sinus Micromist".Cannot hear the "Buzzing" during the day and it has not affected my balance which is just as well as I have to use a "Walking stick" to aid my movement. Ruddy infuriating in the dead of the night.

RazorsEdge 28-07-2023 12:55 PM

This trolley is a modern walking medical miracle.

Arthritis, buzzing in ear, nasal blockage, walking aid needed to move round.

Dear Razors Edge
Just to clarify the "Buzzing in ear" and "Nasal Blockage" are intermittent and connected so not permanent afflictions. The "Walking aid" is a walking stick and not a "Zimmer frame".That said, some of the ailments are very frustrating but minor compared to some of the ghastly illnesses suffered by many.At present I don't have a pain in my posterior but it would appear that some on the "Good Ship BBS" believe I am one.My good self does not consider myself as a "Walking medical miracle".
Regards.I do hope you and all have an enjoyable weekend.

Genuine question, as I might not know the background here. Does WCB have some kind of special dispensation by the mods of this group to post stuff like this?

Seems a bit over the top tbh, but then again, like I say, WCB might have some special need which means he is exempt from this sort of stuff, which I am not aware of.

In which case I’d advise you to avoid the scones. (Although it’s probably a bit late by now!)

Boxing commentators apologising for any swearing. I'm watching two blokes beat the shit out of each other after 9pm. F*ck off.

Do I want to see a video of a dog 'singing' an aria?
No, I do not.
Or a picture of your cat, your dinner, your f*cking DIY?
F**k. Off.

Costa Coffees new logo. Inclusivity has now gone too far. Ask any woman that has had a Mastectomy if it makes them feel good. Wankers.

Crap pop songs from around mid-2000s that include the 'artist' name-checking himself at the start, whereby someone shouts, for example, 'Sean Kingston!' or 'Jason Derulo!' Very annoying, basically turns a piece of music into an advertisement. Maybe if some of the more established artists could also copy this vibe? You get the idea, a gentle pop music melody begins then someone bellows 'Lionel Richie!'

Can you not adjust the tension?
We've got a great one with internal springs so it can suit whatever size/weight is put on the end.
We have it in the campervan where it folds out of the way in-transit.

He never answered. I think he means 'about' rather than a drug.
