Chris Gocong and Sheldon Brown traded to the Browns for a 4th and 5th round pick plus backup linebacker Alex Smith. I know we have had contract problems with Brown but I can't help but think that we have only let him go because of a trade possibly happening with the Raiders for McNabb with Asamugha coming to Philly in return.

Still, loads of draft picks for us now which means we have loads of trade bait so I'm hoping for a big trade in the next few weeks.

pauldrulez 02-04-2010 07:50 PM

I think it'll be the Raiders 2nd for McNabb. Asomugha wont go from Oakland, the fans will riot and he wants to see out the year with them.

That's a great trade for the Browns.

I think Brown is a top 10 CB. And I wanted Gocong in NE. Good player.

It gives you the chance to move around the draft anyway. Maybe jump up a few spots when you need to.

This is the reason why I don't frequent this thread at times. Paul, you say some real stupid things at times and you appear to have far too much hatred for people you have never met and only perceived by press reports/TV/internet or told. I get that this is a free country and you can say what you like but why don't you post something worthwhile than some of the trash that you do. Maybe then you could be considered a decent poster on here rather than the ignorant or just plain childish one that I can't be the only one to consider you to be ...

Fine, the guy is a saint.

Apart from his steroids and nandrolone.

And his (alleged) woman-beating and entrapment of Tila Tequila. Who admittedly is a loony by her own standards.

I just don't like Merriman or LT. Especially LT. Bad losers. Like me.

Backup linebacker is Alex Hall. He doesn't even have a highlight reel on Youtube!!!! NFL.com list him as a DE so it sounds like a straight swap with Gocong as that's what he started out as.

Not liking this trade to be honest but as you say it does give us more of a chance to move around the draft or do something with a trade for a QB.

I wanna see us move up to nab Eric Berry!

pauldrulez 04-04-2010 01:11 PM

Alex Hall was well liked by a scout that moved to the Eagles from the Browns.

Could be interesting to see how he develops in the offense.

Anyway, i'm finished with the first round of my second last mock draft :p

Here it is:

St. Louis - Sam Bradford, QB - no-brainer.
Detroit - Russell Okung, OT - keep Stafford upright.
Tampa Bay - Ndamukong Suh, DT - new Sapp for Tampa.
Washington - Jimmy Clausen, QB - my guess is Washington trade down as someone comes up to get Gerald McCoy.
KC Chiefs - Eric Berry, S - 3rd best player in the draft IMO.
Seattle - Gerald McCoy, DT - 2nd best player and fills a need.
Cleveland - Joe Haden, CB.
Oakland - Bruce Campbell, OT.
Buffalo - Brian Bulaga, OT.
Jacksonville - Derrick Morgan, DE.
Denver - Rolando McClain, LB
Miami - Jason Pierre-Paul, DE/LB
San Francisco - Trent Williams, OT
Seattle - CJ Spiller, RB
NYG - Dan Williams, DT
Tennessee - Everson Griffin, DE.
San Francisco - Earl Thomas, S.
Pittsburgh - Mike Iupati, OL
Atlanta - Brandon Graham, DE
Houston - Kyle Wilson, CB.
Cincinnati - Dez Bryant, WR.
New England - Sergio Kindle, OLB.
Green Bay - Anthony Davis, OT.
Philadelphia - Kareem Jackson, CB.
Baltimore - Jermaine Gresham, TE.
Arizona - Jerry Hughes, DE.
Dallas - Maurkice Pouncey, C
San Diego - Terrence Cody, DT
NYJ - Golden Tate, WR
Minnesota - Taylor Mays, S.
Indy - Charles Brown, OT.
New Orleans - Sean Weatherspoon, OLB.

:p

pauldrulez 04-04-2010 01:23 PM

And some of these players I can see moving up the board this week:
Pouncey. He might go in top 20.
Mays. He could go anywhere from 7 onwards depending on who wants to take the risk.
The lower level CBs/S of Thomas, Wilson. They might move up a bit.

Those moving down.
Clausen.
Campbell. If the Raiders don't take him, he'll drop 10+ spots.
McClain. I think he's overrated, but it seems like it's just me who thinks it.

Strathclyde Eagle 04-04-2010 04:32 PM

I don't see Dez Bryant falling that low. I think he goes in the top 10.

pauldrulez 04-04-2010 04:59 PM

I had him going to the Jets originally. With Golden Tate going to the Cowboys. I think Tate fits the Bengals better as they already have Bryant/Ocho to go deep.

But Bryant could have a Randy Moss moment. Which team dares to take a risk on the guy. It could well pay off.

pauldrulez 05-04-2010 02:16 AM

McNabb is a Redskin.

If Eagles didn't get a kings ransom, it's a horrible trade.

You don't trade players like this within your own division.

He's got a point to prove now and especially in 2 games a year.

pauldrulez 05-04-2010 02:25 AM

The interest can't have been strong:

And, if Kolb is failing by Week 3.

The Philly fans will be booing. As they always do there. They booed McNabb when he was drafted and have booed him ever since.

The grass isn't always greener. McNabb and Westbrook are gone. Sheldon Brown is gone. Gocong is gone.

Ellis Hobbs is starting...

I like Kolb, but he really has done nothing yet. 2008 he came in and sucked. 2009 he came in and impressed.

How long until we hear the calls for Vick?

Swanny32 05-04-2010 03:33 AM

Happy(ish) that he's finally gone, not happy that we traded him to the Skins, terrible business on our part. That being said with one 1st round and two 2nd round picks we could lure a top top player to Philly with that. Or maybe we take Tebow in the draft?

Swanny32 05-04-2010 03:35 AM

Or Colt McCoy, he seems to be impressing at the moment.

pauldrulez 05-04-2010 03:42 AM

Surely, it would have been better keeping McNabb rather than spending a first or high 2nd on Tebow and McCoy?

I reckon McCoy goes to Cleveland.

Tebow. Could be anything.

If I was the Eagles, i'd go out and get any old veteran off the market as a 3rd QB. Or get someone in the late rounds with Kolb now being the future.
