There are no flights you braindead wankers, go back to your hotel, get pissed and make the most out of an extra day or so.

That droning "Liveeerpool Liiiiverpool" chant, which seems to be the only thing Liverpool fans sing these days. F*cking pony.

And another thing, the way commentators and the media go on about the Anfield Kop as if it's some sort of holy grail of football. The place is an old people's home these days.

Whilst on the subject of hotels:

Wifi fees.
They use to fleece us with their telephone charges, then we all got mobiles and the hotel room phone was only used for ordering room service. Now we all have smart phones and wifi laptops they fleece us again. Bastards.

Steve's sent you a v useful document.

Whilst the preference is for medicines to be taken outside of school hours, that's not set in stone if you can demonstrate that's not possible in your child's case.

I'd copy this document, highlight the relevant sections and send the school a letter explaining why the medicine has to be taken at lunchtime.

Unless the condition is temporary? In which case it might not be worth the effort and aggro.

Page 19 says : [No school shall] require parents, or otherwise make them feel obliged, to attend school to administer medication or provide medical support to their child, including with toileting issues. No parent should have to give up working because the school is failing to support their child’s medical needs.

This doesn't appear to be qualifiedby thenumber of times medication needs to be taken!

I wouldn't admit defeat so easily; it seems quite explicit.

That's what I thought, but head said it's on the East Sussex schools website that medicine taken 3 times daily is the responsibility of the parents. I get the impression that the teacher doesn't want to do it, maybe there was a issue previously with another pupil and the teacher has just refused to give medication to anyone else? The reason I say this, is because she has mentioned the legal ramifications for the school if things go wrong.
Anyway thanks for the help, but the I feel like I'm banging my head against the wall with the school, so I'll just drive up every lunch time to give daughter meds.

I do shift work, sometimes I'm around sometimes I'm not... I'm working until 3am, I explained to head, although I'm not at work I would like to sleep as I'm getting to bed at 4am, getting up at 7am, getting daughter ready for school doing school run then getting home getting a few more hours kip then having to get up do a 9 mile round trip just to give my daughter a spoonful of medicine while her teacher watches me.
I'm kinda battle fatigued by it all....maybe it's lack of sleep, but it all seems ridiculous to me.

I used to work on a building site with a bricklayer who was so proud of his shit he wanted the whole site to see it. He purposely didn't flush prior to laying a cable so that it stuck to the down flap in the portaloo. He then wiped his arse and took the toilet paper and put it in the skip so that his prized effort was on full show for the next poor fecker who entered the portaloo. He probably doesn't concur with your grievance.

I suggest you write to the Board of Governors asap.

mushroom 13-11-2015 02:06 PM

She only has to take medicines until Wednesday, I'm going to print document and give it to one of the governers in the playground on early school run. Probably won't be sorted in time for my daughter, but hopefully they'll change their policy for future cases.

Yoda 13-11-2015 02:18 PM

Hard luck Mushroom, sounds to me like the Head is deliberately being unhelpful. Their decision is certainly not in the spirit of the Govt document we've been discussing.

I can understand you feeling this isn't worth a big bunfight, as the situation will be finished soon.

But your idea of giving it to a Governor and highlighting the relevant sentences might help another parent in the future.

Good one that! WHY!?

I'm getting increasingly irritated by people on public transport who insist, not on sitting next to me, but sitting in the seat on the other side of the gangway, but on the inside nearest to me.

The window seat is free! Keep as far away from me as possible please. It's actually worse than sharing my seat. At least when people sit right next to me it's sort of validating and I feel slightly good about myself.

Dropping a large  tumbler of port and brandy all over the (oatmeal) hall carpet.

Hedgehog 15-11-2015 09:26 PM

Are you annoyed at the loss of the port and brandy or the stain on the carpet?

The way Americans do their date. Month then day then year. No, it goes Day Month Year in order of length of time in the rest of the world. Why do they do this??

The loss of the port and brandy is hurting more at the moment to be honest.

I would expect a new carpet to be arriving courtesy of our insurers at some point but I'm not sure they will cover the drink.:sob:

Within a minute of my first post on Friday's tragedy, a poster blamed immigration!

Shoppers that get to the checkout and let the person on the till start to put the shopping through and then remember they left the bags in the car and instead of buying one wander off to the car park to get them. Just remember your going to the shops you now need a bag or pay the 5p its simple really people did it for years .

Isle of Wight 16-11-2015 12:32 PM

Forgetting my bags when I get to the check out at the supermarket and having to send my son sprinting to the car to retrieve them.

Some little charmer at my daughters school sent her a picture of my daughter with 'this is the face of a bitch' typed underneath.

Annoyance doesn't really cut it. You can only feel for the poor innocent moslem kids in France and the children of idiots who will set upon them in the days to come. Not just children either. Even adults won't be spared from these braindead racist scum. I'm not an especially violent man but certain things push my buttons. There should be a 'things you would take a police caution for' thread.

Aches and pains as i get older. I used to heal so quickly.
Trapped nerve in my back alongside a pulled groin which have barely healed in two months and now topped off by squashing the top of my finger under a manhole cover. Happy days.

That my left earhole is physically incapable of retaining a headphone when you lose the wee furry yoke that covers them.

Losing the wee furry yoke that goes on the end of headphones.
