My daughter has just turned 13 and has been doing this for months, causes big problems between me and Mrs Maidstoned as I feel it shows a lack of respect that needs to be addressed.

I wanted to park in front of my house but someone has parked there which they're quite entitled to do. However, they've parked half in front of my house and half in front of next door which means they're taking up 2 spaces. Cheers mate

Is it a natural instinct for little girls playing/running around in a group to scream in an ear shattering shrill, or it it something they lean to do by peer pressure or from video games?

I want to believe it is naturally inbred in them and they seem to have always done it, so can't blame video games for this one.

(Neighbours kids are having a party and there are about 10 kids under 10 having a water pistol fight in the back yard - sounds like some are getting murdered)

Either that or they think I'm Australian, which is not unusual, and are trying to be clever.

I was asked to fax a document to an insurance company today (the use of a fax in 2018 is another whole post). I do not have faxing capability at home, so took the 25 page document first to a FedEx store. They wanted $2.50 a sheet, or $62.50 all in. I politely declined and said I would look at Plan B. Next went to the UPS store and was quoted pretty much the same. On to Staples that wanted $2.99 a sheet!

I got home, and sent an e-mail to the insurance company with a .pdf attachment of the file in hope some nice person there sees the light, but I'm not holding my breath.

The most annoying thing is, I'm pretty sure a) they already had this document, and b) the update to their website seems to have reverted all my information back to old information.

It's a tough life.

A bit of a follow-up...

Now on my third round of e-mails with this company, and we seem to be in a bit of a "There's a hole in my bucket dear Liza" loop.

Latest e-mail tells me I have to fax the document (totally ignoring the $60.00 plea), or call them on the number on the back of the ID card... the same ID card we have lost and need to replace which is why I'm contacting them in the first place and trying to provide the said documents.

Part II of the annoyance... One there website you can provide a phone number that the next available representative will call you. Did this, and within 30 seconds the phone goes, only to go straight to hold which I gave up on after 15 minutes.

Customer Service at its finest!

Forgetting which english word to use in sentences, eg affected or effected, passed or past, their or there etc. Probably where the bbs helps actually as without it i probably wouldnt write/type stuff at all.

The effected/affected one always gets me. When typing in Word, it always wants to use affected, which I often override with effected.

I've Googled it many times, and still not really sure about the differences.

The middle class sense of entitlement

Middle class people who call everything “amazing”

The middle class accepted wisdom that everything that’s foreign is superior to everything that isn’t

The middle classes

Yeah, know what you mean. You can affect something, whereas something can have an effect. You can go past something or something can go past? Passed I only associate with football. Their team is over there I think. Something like that anyway.

People moaning and moaning about the fact that we haven't signed anyone.

I've been off work for a couple of weeks and am totally amazed at the number of unsolicited calls that come in everyday.

Thank God for caller ID and voice mail.

There was a thing on the radio yesterday where they were saying the whole "Do not call" list (not sure if you have that in The UK) is no longer working or being enforced.

As I'm typing this... there is another one!
