Newcastle goalie made some excellent stops. A lovely cross from Lusale to Marsh looked goalbound. Strange to say their goalie might have been MOTM, that's probably Palmer, their 10 who caused problems all game. But those saves he made meant Palace were never able to build momentum.

Newcastle seemed better at making in-game changes. They crowded Derry out, pulled our full-backs out of position, exploited space much better. A well coached team. Some really sloppy passes on their side were letting us back in the game had we taken the chances. I missed that Cowin was on the bench which was another option for Palace to change the game and move Adams-Collman into the midfield. Ultimately they lost because they couldnt cope with the changes Newcastle made.

Referee was kind to Mustapha who could easily have been sent off for 2 yellows. Should really have been substituted.

Agree , very sad that he didn’t make it here as he seemed nailed on to but for injuries. Roy was a big fan of his and his ability.

Great news about Joe,are we still worried about the height issue,was just thinking about that treble save at the wombles the other week,it was ridiculous from him,seems a very confident lad and only going to get better with the likes of SJ round him,this Ive always rated Dean Kiely as a coach.

I would think he will be dogged throughout his whole career by that question whenever he concedes but praised for the rest of his game. His feet and reaction shot-stopping are right up there I would say - as a layman. Probably has to refine his positioning and increase body strength over the next few years like they all do at his age. It's that which dictates how far he goes. Fingers crossed.

Away at Plymouth in 3rd round of FA youth cup. Tie will be played sometime during 1st half of December.

Plymouth play in what I think it tier 3 of the u18 leagues so the club should expect to.progress.
