He's (they're) going to have waaaaaaaaaaay too much other shit to deal with to even consider that.
If he tries to do even half of what he's been saying he'll do there'll be a full on revolution.

They seem to have the world's second largest reserves of shale gas if that's your thing. You'd be a brave company to invest though given the wild swings in economic policy. To view the link you have to Register or Login

There is a referendum in Venezuela on December 3 which potentially means they will annex part of Guyana.

They might try, but Guyana won't be accepting any of that

In the decade of the 2010s Venezuela had the lowest average annual growth rate in the world. Guyana had the fastest average in the world other than a couple of exceptional years by Libya.

Oh ok, the land Venezuela are claiming is theirs is apparently rich in oil. I never knew in South America there was some dispute in land claims apart from Falkland’s

The world is getting fecked up everywhere and war is almost in every continent apart from the polar regions

It is an odd little country Guyana, but one with big rivers.

The dispute with Venezuela is long standing.

Guyana's main problem is for decades its best and brightest have simply left, being ambitious means being an emigrant.

No.1 son's mother is from New Amsterdam and we spent a few months there when he was little.

If it is on up that is great news, it has plenty of land and resource

I think it is mainly oil e.g Exxon. I've read forecasts that average growth could be the highest in the World for the rest of the decade as well. Interesting in the 10s and 20s Ethiopia is right up there too. I know from the 70s they had good batsmen like Clive Lloyd.

I been to Guyana and I found it to be a very nice and beautiful country and some lovely people, I only been to Georgetown and that was in a cricket tour.

I got lot of Guyanese friends too here in England and all funny enough from cricket.

I never knew about the land disputes to be honest so I was bit shocked to read that.

I agree about the migration of talent from the country which is always sad

Not just Clive in the 90’s they had Chanderpaul and Hooper.

I did read about Ethiopia too about it may go to war etc.

Fecking hell time to build a bunker I reckon

It is replete with disputed land claims, the thing is that a lot of the claimants have very little voice and no power.

I had to Google ‘replete’ even though I did think it meant ‘filled with’ a very good word.

I suppose this is not known as globally but more locally the land disputes in South America

Well this has been a learning day for me
