England played a friendly there a few years ago, no one was bothered. There will be some coverage, which always helps, but mostly the issue will be ignored.

I think this particular host and the apparent move to World Cups every 2 years, will eventually destroy international football. Players will really start to wonder if playing international games is worth the risk to their careers.

This is the problem when you merge sport with politics. Now people involved can have a opinion on everything. Why is one type of oppression ok but the other not.

Qatar World Cup organizers have admitted that workers were exploited while contracted for FIFA's preparation tournaments in the Gulf State.

The acknowledgement of failings came after an investigation by Amnesty International which said security guards were forced to work in conditions it called "forced labor" by exceeding the 60-hour maximum work week and not having a day off for months or even years.

Qatar provided no details of the abuses that involved subcontractors working on the Club World Cup and Arab Cup in 2021.

I saw a tv advert the other day where they were trying to flog tickets. I don't remember seeing that sort of thing for previous world cups, which makes me think that people aren't too keen on heading to Qatar. I wonder why?
