I think most celebs thrive on self-importance, good or bad publicity is still publicity.

Harry and Meg are half and half, Harry's self-importance comes from an accident of birth, and Meg like any Actress/Actor was becoming a "star" which having Harry highlighted that a bit more.

They would love this thread as we are doing what we are supposed to be doing, talking about them, and making them relevant.

My bestest BBS buddies include people who have been outed as racists, and other banned or flounced posters.

What changed everything, for the most part, was fecking Brexit and all the related cobblers. At least we have that Political Forum. It is tiresome. Someone posts up a thread about Boris, and there has to be a counter thread about Corbyn etc.

I suspect it wouldn't be such a bad idea to close all those threads - and open a gigantic one for people to spit bile at each other.

How the government and Brexit has split the nation (divide and conquer - while we sell off the lot to enrich ourselves) has even entered its murky tentacles on this sacred refuge.

Useful way to separate out the utter mings from regular folk, though.

Have never "talked up the pair", just tried to respect them as human beings, first and foremost, rather than believing the negative connotations e.g. her favourite food: avocados linked to human rights abuses....and simply derided by a far right press looking to make money from spreading hate about them. Hate never solved anything and like brexit which was driven by a hate campaign against immigrants, targetted at bigoted, uneducated misanthropes, only bad things will come of it......democracy my arse - we are now a nation of rule takers, less prosperous, less trade, less opportunity, a laughing stock internationally and destabilised.

You could agree with someone almost 100% and 'opinion differently'.

You may wish to sweep that aside, but then one could say that you are happy that the main source of your internet opinion is gleaned from fabricated (and erroneous - even fake) Facebook memes.

Not sure that is a look to be over-smug about. Even if your main function these days is defending the BBS dimwits from the bullies. TBF for me it is probably the nerd's revenge - I see the dimwits as the twonks at school that probably bullied anyone trying to get an education. There are no positives for brexit, those who voted for it either fell for the lies or were anti immigrant. If the leave vote in the referendum was illegally funded by Putin and based on lies then democracy isnt served.
It is patently obvious now 6 years after the brexit vote, that the claims by leave (Turkey joining, EU army, £350m for the NHS etc), were lies, an agenda of intolerance pushed by the likes of the DM, specifically targetted at a demographic that wasn't educated and had bigoted and intolerant tendencies.....and they are doing exactly the same with MM, hatred & intolerance parroted by a similar audience to those they targetted in the brexit campaign with pejorative terms and negative connotations. You however cling to both brexit and hatred, however irrationally and unfounded, and nothing good will come of either

So to sum it up the majority of us who wanted to leave the EU are either feeble minded or racists because the EU is so wonderful. You really couldn't make it up how you view yourself and others. What a tool you are.
