Accounts are generally a bit more reliable when their followers are in 10s of 1,000.

Feel like he still has lots to give. Little worried about his lack of fitness and game time but he is (was?) a very very good footballer.

You post rumours from spotty 18 year olds with under 200 followers who are posting for attention.

While having a closer look at his injury record over the last few years I noticed transfermarkt have him mainly playing dm in his final year at Arsenal. I remember him as a box to box tbh, but if that is the case, could we be thinking along those lines with this potential signing?

Hmm. We are probably interested but could be the usual agent leaks to flush out bigger offers
We’ve been here before

I think we’re his favoured destination. Just sorting out the best deal for us.

It was over 10 years ago and he’s played about 380 games since then.

Whilst his injury record is worrying his class is not. He would be a fantastic addition to our threadbare midfield for next 4 months.

I agree, goals a plenty from Ramsey if fully fit, he knows Roberts really well and of course the Vieira factor.

I like Ramsey but signing him even just on loan doesn’t make an incredible amount of sense to me.
It would probably include some sort of loan fee say £1.5M and covering even just 25% of his reported £400k/week wages would cost us another £1.5M in wages. That is £3M for the next 4-5 months. Will he help us finish 2-4 places higher up the table to get the ROI? Would it not make more sense to sign a young, talented and hungry player like Lewis O’Brien for circa £5M on a permanent deal, who will now be an asset on the books? Just thinking out loud. I do trust Roberts and Vieira though. |

This would be great for the young lads in the squad.. Getting quite excited by this especially if luka goes for money being banded around, what do people on here think is this happening??. Ramsey would give us experience, quality, and like I said be great around the dressing room.

Can’t see that. His deal at Juve expires in 18 months at that point why would it be structured as a loan? We would just sign him (transfer fee instead of a loan fee) and they’d pay up 75% of his remaining contract and we’d make up the difference. Why would it be a loan

I think a technical DM in the Anguissa/Bissouma/Ndidi/Soumare mould is more important. We’d have Kouyate as a direct back up and Hughes, Gallagher and McArthur competing for the two 8 positions. If you have Ramsey you play Hughes deeper but we’d still be missing a Kouyate-type player in midfield as Gallagher is undroppable. Just my opinion

Kouyate is an able utility option but is out of contract and may wish to move on to play regular football. That leaves Hughes, Wells-Morrison to potentially come through (Gazza2 thinks he is one of the next to break through) plus Schlupp, who is really a left sided attacker, and Eze and Olise who are also more attacking. A high end CDM will cost big money - and is needed eventually, but Ramsey could be a bridge for a season or two.
