Black Widow on the strength of some fairly positive reviews, but it's really not all that. Rachel Weisz is pretty good, but Ray Winstone is just a parody. Sat through Zack Snyder's Justice League for the same reason a couple of weeks ago. When will I learn?

Sweet Girl on Netflix. Jason Momoa and his daughter seek justice against a corrupt pharmaceutical company.

After a promising start it turns into a Generic and bland action thriller with a fairly stupid twist at the end. 4/10

Eh? Sounds bloody great doesn't it? I'm in.

(And VHA's Brighton bit is superb.)

The Manxman(1929)
Hitchcock’s final silent film is a lazily plotted melodrama boosted by decent acting and some nice directorial touches. A dramatic Cornwall coastline mostly stands in for the Isle Of Man. 6.5/10

I know I’m very late to the party with this one but WOW one of the best films I have seen. The continuous shot photography really pulled you in and made things immersive even when nothing specific was happening. The acting to do that and the size of the environment was just amazing. 9/10

Battle Royale (2000)
A violent, exciting Japanese sci-fi action film with several well staged gun battles. Good classical soundtrack too. 7/10

The Captain (Der Hauptmann) - 2017

Based on a true story set during the final weeks of World War II, a deserting low ranking German soldier fleeing the war finds a Nazi Captains uniform and ends up impersonating an officer to aid his survival and inadvertently ends up leading anti-deserter loyal German soldiers. Mix of a drama with some dark comedy, excellent acting and cinematography, well worth a watch. 8.5/10

I shall probably sound very much like a stroppy child here, however...

Would it be possible to say, as a matter of standard course, on which format reviewers have watched their viewed films please?

To illustrate my own position, I have Netflix and Amazon Prime and on both have a list of stuff to watch on these as long as my right arm. (It's slightly shorter than my left arm, nonetheless this is still a very long list.) So I'm buggered if I intend to pay for anything before I've got through all the free stuff I still haven't bothered to make my way through yet.]

However I read reviews for things I think "ooh, bloody hell yes". E.g. 'Der Hauptmann', 'The Courier', for just 2 easy recent examples, only to find I need to shell out for these. Now I am happy to do so in due course but I can't be doing that before I get on with the free stuff I haven't bothered to watch yet.

So I would like to avoid wasting time looking for stuff that I can't watch for 'free' but the main thing is I am genuinely ever-so-slightly bereft when I go hunting for something that I suddenly really fancy, only to find it's not available (for 'free'.)

I appreciate this is all simply a testament to my laziness as it doesn't take much to search and even if it was 'free' it'd only go on my unwatched list anyhow (but that's okay - just knowing I have stuff is as good as actually watching it, I often find), but I genuinely do get a little (just a VERY little) disappointed to find it's beyond and so if nothing else it would spare me that plus it would be handy to free up that fruitless searching time for porn.

So I think we're all agreed...

(Ooh, also just "Amazon" doesn't work. Is it Prime or no? Proper 'Prime'? If it's available on Amazon but not Prime (e.g. Starz, or whatever), we (I!) need to know. Again - personally - I cannot subscribe to these. Not even for free. I don't watch my free stuff because I am very lazy. I can't be trusted to take on brief offers. I subscribe to The Times but haven't read it online in months. Ditto Britbox. (Got that for Wolf Hall. Still paying. Fortunately I'll get on with Smiley's People in 3 or 4 years...) So a freebie introductory offer isn't 'free'. Not for the likes of me. And while I may very well be a premier dope, there are many snapping at my heels - I know that for sure.)

Maze Runner The Scorch Trials(2015)
Despite a few plot holes this 2nd instalment of the dystopian trilogy is a pretty exciting ride with well filmed exteriors including a ruined city( presumably San Francisco). 7/10. ( On DVD)
