There will be no hiding place for Boris after this weekend when the report is published as much as he may try to fudge it, as cleary fellow Tories will realise he has become a liability whilst remaining at the helm. And watching BJ make that speech yesterday when interviewed and the pretence of his actions, made me shake my head in embarrasment.
My original thoughts were he may survive until the results of the May Local elections are known, but i dont see members waiting for the possible humilation to happen before taking action so as to save their Own positions.
The shambolic state of politics currently with all that has been brought to light, then lets not forget the pictures of Kier Starrmer recently supposedly having a party/gathering? but attended by several people we were told somehow has avoided too much publicity and generally gone unnoticed by the public.

I think you are right on this - suspect it will always going to happen at the next election whoever is PM, provided of course that labour put up even a half decent opposition (and Starmer, despite some of his faults, falls into that category).

Interesting line from Adam Fleming (also covered elsewhere) saying that the hard line whipping and briefing slur style of Johnson’s cabinet is also a big factor in the rising anger. Remember this has been his style since day 1 with his removing of the whip from people like Dominic Grieve for daring to have an opinion at odds with his.

Some of the MPs elected in 2019, who met yesterday to decide whether to submit letters of no confidence in the prime minister, have decided to send them now, according to one of the group.

The MP said that disparaging comments about them by ministers, more experienced MPs and the whips "took them over the edge".

You could call it a backlash to the backlash. And it's more proof that in politics every action has a reaction.

The Bishop Auckland MP Dehenna Davison also whatsapped local campaigners to say that she had been the subject of a "fabricated" smear by Downing Street after some newspapers reported that she had been one of this group's organisers.

The mood within the Conservative party is incredibly tense and rumours abound. The only thing that's certain is that the threshold of 54 MPs required to trigger a vote of confidence has not been reached... yet.

Er. It was last May and he was having a takeaway (and a beer) with staff during the Hartlepool by election.

I'd still say that if the Tories get rid of Johnson and put Sunak in charge they will win the next election but I am less convinced of that than a few months ago.
