When the U18’s play on a Saturday at the Academy training ground is open to the public to watch?
Thanks. |

Thanks, I heard the same last season. Been to a few away games in the North West last season. Was hoping we would follow suit this season. Thanks again.

pre covid, you could watch if you were a season ticket holder. Can't watch currently. Season Ticket holders may be allowed to watch after all building work completed. Work on acqua therapy centre behind schedule so won't be completed until sometime after Xmas. So, best case, is season ticket holders can watch from next season.

I'm sure its better than a new player for the first team.

Lol but it will benefit the injured players and hopefully get them back to full fitness quicker.

Hydrotherapy centre I should have said lol. A neighbour of mine works for the company who've done most of the interior work at the Academy site. The last thing they are doing is the Hydrotherapy bit. It's not going to be finished as early as was first hoped / planned.

Reckon it could be something like: Whitworth, Imray, Sheridan, Grehan, Watson, Ozoh, Devenney, JRS, Raymond, Ebiowei, Ola-Adebomi The U21s can also name 7 subs in this game, and considering in the last game they could only name 4, getting enough players together for this may be tough! Maybe a bench of: Izquierdo, Francis, Kporha, Austin, Mustapha, Umeh, Mathurin The players that didn't feature in the last line up against Middlesborough: Adaramola, V. Williams, Siddik, Reid, Wells-Morrison, Rodney, Eze, Nascimento, Akinwale What injury crisis? ![]() |

Yeah while it would be nice for the minutes under JRS and Ebiowei I just don't think we can afford them to potentially get on and get injured.
As a side note is there an update on Ferguson's return?

Good points well made but I don't see the benefit of them sitting on the first team bench and not getting minutes. This could potentially be seen as a warm up game for the EFL cup game against Man Utd for the likes of JRS and Ebiowei and potentially even Jairo and Ahamada.
If neither of the former 2 I mention play, and there's no other returnees from injury, I imagine it'll be Mathurin and Umeh to start with probably Derry and Marsh to step up to the bench? I haven't seen anything whatsoever. |

I found out yesterday - not that this is specifically relevant - that the Football Manager algorithms for your under 21 wonderkids favours training and getting odd minutes in first team football. I think they looked at - training and playing for youth teams, training with first team and playing for youth teams and then training and playing odd minutes for the first team. As long as they are playing 20 or more minutes about once a month they will develop at a much quicker rate than the other two options. Also feels counter-intuitive to me

The U21s is a little like the old Reserves back in the day, injured players coming back or up and coming kids were always given game time in the second strings this when squads were a lot thinner so surely we have to use these games as further footballing game time for players on the cusp of the first team,JRS and ME need minutes in there legs,JRS seems a complete waste if he's not going to play this season should be out in the Championship but we all know we're so light on numbers he was needed here..
