He used both Cabaye and RLC to do exactly that. Neither of who he wanted to lose. There's a panel discussion he did with Lampard! at the end of that season and he was waxing lyrical about RLC and clearly wanted to resign him.

The issue with Roy is that both he and Ray make judgements about players and it takes an incredible amount of work/luck to change it. Jairo took four seasons to win Roy over. Whereas AWB took six months.

Preference would still be Gerrard but unlikely I know.
If Burnley lose their away fixture to Fulham, Dyche could be dangerously close by that time, to taking Burnley down for a second time. Yet so many people on here still want him. I just don't get what they are seeing? Add to that, he is a massive cultural miss match for the club. We should be aiming higher than what we already have. It's about progression for us at this crossroad.

My good self has Fulham finishing on 36 pts and Burnley on 40 pts with my predictions including a Fulham victory in their encounter.
To paraphrase Frank Sinatra's 'Nevertheless' "Maybe I'll be right, maybe I'll be wrong".

I think the pro dyche ppl believe with the team hell adopt in palace would be far superior to the one he has at Burnley (with a couple of exceptions of course) therefore able to take them even further than Roy could imo

If we're getting Dyche and giving him 50m to spend, I'd rather we kept Roy and added the money it will cost to get Dyche out of his contract to the 50m and get Roy to have a good go.

Dougie and Parish would be spending the 50m, not Dyche.

He'd have to put up with who he gets - just like Roy.

They'd have to add certain filters to their search criteria for ol' Dychie.

That doesn't mean he gets who he wants, which some people on here seem to think a new manager would.

Id expect the next appointment to be someone weve held an interest in for a long time. And someone where the blueprint is pretty clear in terms of the recruitment. If its Dyche like theyre saying Id expect there will be clear discussions between both parties thoroughly in that area.
