I wouldn't be. Dyche has not been given funds to buy expansive attacking players but, he would have here and he has already shown himself to be capable of playing to the players style. I fully believe that we would be looking at a more quick direct counter-attacking 4-2-3-1 (hopefully) style with Dyche.

Did you watch them play Arsenal? They battered them; of course it was only 1 game but for me, the talk sport article above isn’t showing Dyche enough respect. They are bottom of the league in terms of expenditure by a country mile, no prizes for guessing who’s second bottom but still way ahead of Burnley.

I accept what others are saying that Dyche isn’t much different to RH other than the age gap but there is simply no way Parish will want to try anything too different after the FDB calamity.

We all know the type of football Palace play, let teams have the ball and hit them on the break when they’ve over committed, that is what Dyche does. It wasn’t long ago that SD led Burnley to the Europa league, granted they didn’t do much when they got there but chance would be a fine thing.

I would fully support (and be very happy with) the appointment of Dyche.

What Dyche has managed to achieve at Burnley is quite remarkable relative to the quality of player and financial muscle at his disposal. I'd be interested to see how he'd get on with players that have better individual quality. As much as I would personally prefer Howe, Dyche is probably the safest pair of hands outside of Roy for a side that would need to pragmatically disassemble an entire squad over 2/3 seasons.

That was a big factor, but they were struggling badly even with him in the team the season prior.

A Swansea season ticket holder told me they lost their playing identity . They had Martinez , Sousa , Rodgers and Laudrup . Then Monk took over and cracks began to appear after a year . He was followed by Guidolin , Bradley , Clement and Carvalhai all with a more defensive approach which eventually resulted in their relegation .

Some of their games have been a better watch than ours. At least we might at least threaten the goal from set pieces etc, something we just don't do any more.

Just for the Record since 2013/14 which was Dyche's first full season in charge (he took over October 2012 for the 2012/13 season) his transfer record is:

2013/14 - Expenditure £ 500,000 / Income £ 4,250,000 / Balance -£ 3,750,000
2014/15 - Expenditure £11,500,000 / Income £0 / Balance -£ 1,000,000
2015/16 - Expenditure £23,000,000 / Income £19,000,000 / Balance -£ 4,000,000
2016/17 - Expenditure £41,000,000 / Income £ 1,000,000 / Balance -£40,000,000
2017/18 - Expenditure £32,000,000 / Income £45,000,000 / Balance £13,000,000
2018/19 - Expenditure £29,750,000 / Income £ 7,250,000 / Balance -£22,500,000
2019/20 - Expenditure £21,500,000 / Income £12,250,000 / Balance -£ 9,250,000
2020/21 - Expenditure £ 1,000,000 / Income £0 / Balance -£ 1,000,000

Total minus £68.5m over 8 seasons which is an average spend of roughly minus £8.5m per season. Meaning they spend £8.5m more than they get in from sells per season.

Please note that 2013/14 and 2015/16 were Championship seasons.

I really will be very surprised if we can tempt Sean Dyche to ditch Burnley with new owners who for sure would back him, to take over the reins at Palace especially with our recent track record of NOT backing managers.
But IF true then i tip my hat to our Board as surely they will need to tempt Dyche with huge funds for the changes that will be needed, in all honesty if it comes off we will have in place the best manager to follow in the footsteps of previous successful managers like Pulis, Big Sam and Roy who have guaranteed us premiership status, and how can that be knocked.
There is still doubts in my mind about Palace appointing Dyche, and feel this is just a smoke screen with Frank Lampard awaiting in the wings into getting the nod.

Swansea were a small time club who did very well initially playing big time football.

The problem, as is always the case, is that they didnít have big time budgets and inevitably ended up competing with clubs who had much bigger budgets for the same players who could fit into their style.

Personally Iím delighted with Dyche. Outside of maybe five or six managers I canít think of anyone who has a better track record at consistently over delivering relative to his clubs resources.

Well to be fair the new ownership were too busy loading the club up with debt so there probably wasn't much left for transfers.
