Realistically we're going to be looking at a list that probably includes

Howe,
Lampard
Flores
Silva

We might try Benitez and the chap from AS Roma if the Sarri rumours are true.

SP doesn't like taking managers that are already under contract at another club doesn't like the fees and mess extracting the other backroom staff.

Lets not forget it's Steve that wanted us to change the way we play and be more like Ajax. He clearly wants to develop academy players and use that to fund the club and supplement the first team. This isn't something Dyche is known for. He threw his toys out of the pram when Burnleys owner didn't renew a lot of the experienced players and wanted Dyche to make more use of their academy.
Relief your not on the selection committee.

Howe is going to England U23s, currently under some contract at Bournemouth regarding his severance pay, cant start a new job until 1st July.

No one knows where Howe is ending up. It could be one of several clubs. Also why would he take the U23 job. He's said he'd be interested in Southgates job but Boothroyds job is nowhere near what a manager of Howes calibre is going to be interested in taking.

Also Howe is probably still being paid by Bournemouth on a montly basis. It's becoming more common when sacking a manager instead of paying up the contract in full they pay them monthly so when they do get a new job they save some money. Exact same thing is happening with Lampard. He does'nt have to work again until July.

This gets said a lot and whilst I sort of know what they mean, I don't think that alone can be the reason for a relegation. A manager being caught in two minds certainly can but there is no reason they couldn't have changed their identity and been successful.

But I think it was simply bad appointments, Clement and Bradley were particularly bad, that cost them their PL status.

But it is interesting and a useful reminder. I see Roy criticised for being stubborn at times on here but I spin that round and see it another way. The fact he sticks to his ideas, doesn't bend to outside pressure or criticism is actually one of his strengths. The players know what he wants.

Really based on win %s we'd be looking at Howe, Lampard or Silva both english managers have win %s in the 40s. Lampard also in the 50s due to him being Chelsea manager but lets discount that as an average because of the quality and money involved. His Derby win percentage is probably more what we'd want to look at. Silva ranges from 30% to 80% his last job he had a 40% win rate.

Fonseca is just an entirely different class of manager and would in theory be the 'best' one.
Hasn't Fonseca struggled a bit at Roma this season. Who else has he managed?

Dyche would be extremely boring but probably safe. I don’t think he’s any better than Roy though and it will continue to be a tough watch.

May as well give Roy another contract.

My dear Friskey

Perhaps "Wor Roy" has decided that it is time to hang up his "Sure" coat, the club know his intentions and that an announcement will be made when appropriate??

My dear Trolley

Who is this f*cking "Wor Roy" bloke you keep wibbling on about?

If you're referring to our manager, Roy Hodgson was born and brought up in Croydon and to the best of my knowledge, only associates with Newcastle for footballing purposes.

We had a Geordie "Wor Steve" Bruce but he was a c*nt to us and the Geordies want shot of him.

Roma are currently 7th in Serie A - fans aren't happy about that. But, they won 2-1 away at Ajax yesterday in the Europa League which they are happy about obviously. But the main rumour is that he isn't liked and Sarri is available and willing to come in who the fans do like the idea of.

In terms of his experience he has managed in the Champions League, in Ukraine with Shakthar and in Portugal with a few clubs.

Won the Portuguese Cup with a very unfancied Braga side.

Won three Ukraine league and Cup doubles in three years.

And won the Community Shield Portugal equivalent with Porto.

Naturally completely convinced this is the guy we need.

I'm not just talking about his brief spell at Watford. He was an absolute disaster in Asia too. Watford made the right choice bringing him in first time around, but the second time defied any logic.

Agree about Fonseca. I'm a fan and would be very happy if he is our manager next season.
