I planned to have a quick jar when I got into the LH on Saturday. Bars were absolutely rammed many deep so stuck with the (flavoured) water I brought in for the game. I do think however they should have an outside bar too by the grass section. Ended up having my game day jar on the way home on the train - can of Heineken. I did however enjoy a nice couple of pints of celebratory Leffes when I got home.

Despite the fact I can't see why you'd pay to go to football and then choose to stay in the bar when the football had started, I also can't see why they need to kick you out of the bar - what are they going to do in there during the first half which means they can't have any customers in there?

Good point. I wonder whether it's a licensing issue?

Yep, agreed - an outdoor bar where the burger Van used to be would be a big winner and also help alleviate congestion on the concourse.

It was a shambles on Saturday in the LH, something is up, thatís not how things should be running and pre-pouring a few hundred pints would help queues enormously.

We have regressed since lockdown. Service and food drink levels are shocking again. Managed to get a few beers and pie at Chelsea and it was great and easy.... If they can do it why can't we?

Yep that's the point.

Ha - itís a strong but lovely lager, but itís anything but a session drink! Itís a keg I have (had now) going in my draught machine at home. The next one to go in is Leffe 9Ö..and yes, itís 9%! . Be like drinking a pint of wine (albeit weak wine)ÖÖso definitely only a Ďpintí of that will suffice.

To offset the negativity I had a very pleasant experience on Saturday. About 5-10 mins before the teams came out we thought we could sneak in a quick half (given the time and the queues) in one of the LH bars. Asked for two halves, went to pay, the girl said "ah don't worry about it" and let me have them for free.

Result! Probably down to my boyish good looks but from that point I knew we were going to have a good day. Thanks mystery barmaid!

If they pre-poured the pints they would be obligated to top them up. As all pints at selhurst are poured about a fifth short theyíd be losing a pound a pint.

Had a pint of Palace ale in the Whitehorse pre match. No queue at 11:30 … and there was a cask of something on the back bar which was unfortunately not tapped.

I miss not being able to get a pint of Cronx or another proper beer in Crystals to be honest. To be fair the Palace Ale was “only” a fiver which compares favourably with £6.80 at the Oval the previous week.

Tweeted Sharon Lacey yesterday pleading with her to ask the bar staff to do exactly this.

There MUST be a better way… the sheer surprise on the faces of the bar staff that people want a beer is truly an art form.
The strict training regime, where there should be a minimum of three staff per pint poured involved in the transaction is poetry.
The bottle bar became a artisan can of walk carlsberg from the local cash and carry that needed to be dispensed into a plastic cup. At speed it is easier to piss into the windows of a moving train.

Forget doing the ground up, with this type of service it is turd polishing. We are a premier league club, that should be maximising match day revenues, a £4 can of warm carlsberg that took the full half time break to buy is a million miles from where we should be
