Pretty sure Fulham are also looking at improving their existing academy.
Brighton's academy - rural hinterland.

Millwall's academy - rural hinterland
Palace's academy - in the middle of suburban south London

Charlton announced a detailed plan to convert to a category 1 academy years ago which really worried me at the time as Palace were miles away from doing the same. We were barely hanging onto cat 2 status. Thankfully, the announcement of their plan coincided with relegation and a big fall in revenue so their plan did not get implemented.

Charlton is in New Eltham which is 7 miles from Beckenham. I regularly used to go to there when our U18s played away v Charlton.

I know they have moved or are going to move soon but the Millwall academy is/was in Downham barely a couple of miles from the Palace site in Beckenham.

So just a couple of years ago, you had cat 2 academies of Palace, Charlton and Wall in fairly close proximity. Thankfully we have pulled miles ahead now and have already pinched players from the Wall academy in more recent times.

It’s never been the case of one had priority over the other.

Given we are in south London both are buggeringly difficult projects to push through given land ownerships / planning permissions etc

SP has been working on both in tandem for some time. My chat with SP was many years ago and he at the time thought he had all parties playing ball until Sainsbury’s started playing silly buggers.

If they hadn’t the stadium project would have proceeded the academy as he still needed to negotiate the land deal from Goals etc plus get planning permission

Considering it changed to £11.05 on Sunday, its reasonable to accept the adverts havent been up dated. Hardly something to get too upset about.

I wonder if someone left, or this is a new position. Seems a pretty critical role for a professional football club of Palace's size.
I expect Connor Wickham offered them a full time contract

Yes a few have ppicked up on this and missed my point. It's a wankfest. We can't take the piss out of the weeds for guzzling Sky's jizz and then e]lap it up ourselves. I don't, I will certainly be over the moon with it but I don't give a shit what Sky have to say. I'm just pointing out their cynicism.

Really? That's rather depressing. The fact it is increasing can hardly be a surprise. Also depressing is the increase - 20p when inflation is over 4%. Anyway let's assume the club have just not updated the figures which does
actually seem likely
