In fairness I don't think that's why he left them. Marc wanted to leave to play regularly and told them he wasn't signing a new contract. The fact they put an option in the deal to be able to have first dibs if they matched someone else's offer suggests they at least thought he had a lot of potential.

There’s a certain truth in this, after every international break our centre backs put in a stinker. Andersen is much worse of an offender than Guehi though

Yep shows how important Riy and Ray coaching is as well. But Doucoure is a big miss. 5 goals in the one and half games he has been injured. Out of the AFCON. Bad injury

Realistically if we sell Marc in the summer, how much do we think we get for him.

If it is an astronomical price like 80m+ which I think he’s worth (future England CB and potential captain) will we re-invest that in the squad and buy 4-5 very good prospects or will we just have another summer of (we tried, but the deal just wasn’t there to be done.)

We can only really go on awb money that didn't seem to go back into squad
New stand costing money can see some of it being moved into paying for that might do it in smoke and mirrors tho .

Mmm….. perhaps not so straight forward as I’m suggesting but the AWB £50m - £25m was invested in the Academy £25m was used to pay off a loan……….allowing us to get a new one and ultimately bring in Anderson and Guehi.
