I actually came across a Brighton 'supporter' in my neck of the woods recently - wearing a shirt and jacket combo at my son's U8 match.

My lad spotted it first, giving it a giant EAGLES as he walked past (proud ) when we were arriving.

Thereafter I thought I'd be pleasant, and started off gently by saying hello, and kicking off with a REMF reference.

He didn't know what that was, so I thought I'd move on to AJ. No clue. Tried Glenn Murray - got a nibble there, because "he'd seen him play for Brighton a few years ago." Segued into FFS Murray - again, no idea.

Turns out this person is 'usually' a Chelsea 'supporter,' but went to several matches when based near Brighton for work a few years ago, bought some garb, and now has a passing interest. He described that as 'par for the course down there.'

TBH, I was bloody dissappointed. Would've liked a proper Brighton fan locally to have some banter with.

I guess the 3,000 hardcore at the Preistfield are now spread thinly.
